//In the midst

It was a cold afternoon. I was waiting for the annoying bus to come when the sky suddenly cried despite the glaring sun. I cursed to myself while running to the closest waiting shed, wishing I should've brought my umbrella. The shed was crowded and was filled with different scents, much more to my annoyance, but I endured, I just need to wait for the bus, or for the rain to stop at least.

A few minutes passed when I saw a girl who didn't seem to care around her surroundings. She had no umbrella with her but she seemed so ecstatic like rain has always been her favorite sound and being drenched with its drops has always been her favorite dress. There's a smile painted on her lips, it was so beautiful and contagious that I just found myself smiling as well, like it has been a natural thing for me to do.

As if on a cliché movie, she averted her gaze to me ever so slowly. Her eyes became warm and her cheeks grew pink with delight. Right then and there, I felt something I never thought I have─it was that thumping of my heart.
