"Your limp is better today," Izuku commented as they trudged down the street.
Katsuki scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Barely. The bruise is worse. It's nearly black, now. Yellow is starting to line it."
The greenette bit back a laugh, keeping his strides short to stay close to the blond. "That just means it's healing, right?"
"Sure, I guess. Don't make it any prettier."
Izuku shook his head, still smiling. "Lower your voice..."
"You spoke, first, asshole."

Izuku yawned, draping himself across the sofa in the house they just cleared to stay in overnight. Katsuki huffed and rolled his eyes.
"Don't get too comfortable, Nerd."
"That's why I don't sleep in the beds."
Katsuki blinked, halfway through removing his shoes. "What?"
Izuku shifted to lay on his back, closing his eyes. "Sleeping on the couch has always been a temporary thing... Beds, though... Soft, comfy and warm. They make you feel comfortable and safe and you don't want to ever get up and face the day. Hotel beds are the exception, of course. They're so... Springy and even the comfortable beds are cold and the rooms unfeeling. So, I always sleep on the couch if one is available. Don't want to get too comfortable."
The blond frowned deeply, slowly sitting down. He pried his second shoe off. "What will you do after the CDC..?" He couldn't help but ask. Would Izuku travel all the way back up to their hometown in Maine? Katsuki doubts it. He has no family to return to. He's not allowing himself to find comfort or a home, a place to settle... Maybe he wants to settle at the CDC? Might not be a good idea if it's blown up or overrun.
"Well," Izuku sighed, hands behind his head. "If I can help... I'll probably be there for a while. If not... Then... I'm not really sure. I try not to think about that."
"Of course not."
Izuku smiled and shrugged. "I'm just trying to be optimistic, Katsuki. What about you? Was your plan to just stay in the dorms forever..?"
Katsuki pursed his lips, leaning back. "I don't know. I never thought about moving or the future... Just trying to survive and keep my friends alive. All the plans I had before had been shot to hell."
The greenette laughed, shifting onto his side to look over to Katsuki. "Neurosurgeon, right?"
"Yup. You?"
"I started up school to be a dentist, actually."
"That's a semi-respectable career choice, nerd."
Izuku laughed more and shook his head. "Is that the best compliment I'll get out of you?" He mused, eyes sparkling.
Katsuki grunted, folding his arms. "Probably."
"Never one for uplifting others, huh?"
"Hey, I'm trying. Shitty hair and Dunce face like my motivational speeches." He smirked and puffed up his chest.
Izuku grinned wider, pulling his blanket out. "Oh, yeah? Can I hear one?"
"Sure. 'Get out there, don't die, and don't let me die.'"
"Oh, wow. Super motivating."
"It fuckin' works."
"I'm sure," the greenette giggled, covering himself with his blanket. "You should eat and get some rest. We need to be up bright and early."
