"Wake up, dumbass."
Izuku jolted and gasped as he was woken abruptly, forehead stinging after having been flicked. He whined and pouted, rubbing the reddening spot. "You're so mean..."
"Rest time is up. Gotta get moving. We're crossing the border into Maryland today."
"The border is like... Ten hours away..? We usually only go for seven or eight..?"
"Well, we're going ten today. We've been here for two nights to rest up, and I'm getting your ass up early. Sun isn't up yet."
Izuku sighed and tossed the covers off of himself. He really had gotten too comfortable in the bed, whining at Katsuki like a child. As Katsuki left the bedroom, Izuku got his boots on and grabbed his discarded jacket.
The only thing that would have made his rest any better was if he wore sweatpants and a loose shirt. Jeans just weren't meant for resting. He just needs more clothes, period. Two pairs of jeans and two shirts can only do so much, but when you have limited space and weight to carry your things, clothes kind of take a back seat to food and water and weapons.
He trudged down the hallway, raising a brow as he spotted Katsuki standing by the front door, holding both the duffle bag and the knapsack. "Someone is in a hurry."
"Hell yeah I am."
"What for?"
"I'd prefer to cross the border sooner, rather than later if that's okay with you." He held the knapsack up for Izuku to take, looking just as grouchy as ever.
Izuku hummed, shrugging the bag onto his shoulders. "Aren't you looking for a place for your group..? Wouldn't you want it to be closer to where they are to make it easier to travel?"
That seemed to make Katsuki halt, his hand already on the doorknob. He licked his lips. "Someone's gotta make sure your dumbass makes it down to the CDC in one piece. If we find a place along the way, then I'll stop there."
The greenette smiled softly and nudged him. "Well, I appreciate the company. You're not a terrible travel partner," he mused and reached around to open the door.
Katsuki scoffed and followed him out.

They actually made good time as they traveled down to the Maryland border. They cut across using an old trail, shortening a two hour trip into just one. They had to keep pulling out a map to ensure they wouldn't get lost, but the shade was nice.
"Hey!" Izuku pointed and grinned, careful not to raise his voice too much in his excitement. "Five miles to the Maryland border!"
Katsuki smiled and nodded, adjusting the duffle on his shoulder as he looked to the faded green sign. If they continue their pace, they'll be at the border just before sundown.

"What are you envisioning for you and the group?"
Katsuki hummed, tilting his head. He's so tired, he's not even sure he's properly thinking about the answer to Izuku's question. Partially because he's envisioning the greenette as apart of the group... Apart of the future. Apart of their new home-to-be.
"Farm," he finally answered, voice soft. "I'd like to find a small farm... Good fencing... Big enough for a couple animals. Chickens, maybe some pigs... Big enough for several gardens... A decent sized house... Kinda want a fireplace."
Izuku smiled softly, holding the straps of his knapsack. "Sounds wonderful... How big do you want the house?"
The blond scoffed and looked up. "Ideally? I'll need a fuckin' mansion. Too many Goddamn people I gotta fuckin' move... Realistically..? A roof and four walls... Just some real shelter. Some of the morons like to pile up anyway..." He sifted his fingers through his hair, then smirked and nodded forward.
