Ash and Eiji stood in the kitchen they shared, hand in hand, Ash twirling Eiji around the room, while the little radio played in the back.

It was comfy and cozy. It felt just like home. Well, it was their home.

Ash spun him again, and again, and again.

"Ash! I'm dizzy!", Eiji laughed and fell into Ash's arms.

The blonde boy just laughed and wrapped his arms around the other.

They both loved days like this. Summer weekends where they could just dance and laugh. Not caring about a thing. Living life day by day, with the one they truly loved.

It was perfect.

"I love you", the shorter boy whispered before leaning in for a kiss.

"I love you more", the blonde replied before giving his lover a kiss.

"Hm.. I don't think so, Ash."

"Oh yes I do, Love."

"Nope, I love you more."

"We both know that's not true."

"I do love you more!"

"No, I do!"

"How about we love eachother equally hm?"

"Fine." The blonde dragged out the word, being dramatic.

"Can I have another kiss?" Eiji asked.

"Hmmm... maybe.", the other teased.

"Oh come on!" Eiji said with a pout.

"Fine. But only because you got all pouty about it." Ash smirked.

Eiji was going to protest but he honestly just wanted that kiss.

They leaned in again, and their lips met. Eiji felt the spark he felt everytime.

When their lips parted Eiji asked "Did you feel the spark?"

"Spark? You're so corny.", Ash teased, giggling a little.

Eiji blushed a little in embarrassment.

'Maybe that is kind of dumb.', he thought.

Ash kissed Eiji's forehead. "I felt the spark." He whispered with a small smile.

Eiji adored Ash. He also adored that smile. His real smile was so soft and gentle. So genuine, you could just tell he was having a good time.

Ash yawned. "I'm tired. Wanna go to bed?"

Eiji yawned aswell. "Sure"

They walked into their room and changed into their pajamas. Their room was small but cozy. It definitely looked like a room that people lived in, it had pictures, cameras and books, tiny plants too. It was definitely more comfortable than the apartments they had to stay in years ago, when it seemed like everyone on the planet was against Ash. Things were better now.

They got into bed and snuggled up to each other. Eiji's head was on Ash's chest, listening to his heartbeat, and Ash's arms were around the other's body.

They started to drift off to sleep.

"Wait.", Eiji said.

"Hm?" Ash hummed tiredly.

"This isn't right." Eiji replied seriously.

"What do you mean?" Ash asked, sounding concerned.

Eiji hesitated to answer. He couldn't be right. But why did he want to say it so badly.

"You're dead."

".. I'm sorry, Eiji."

Eiji opened his eyes, turning around to see nobody.

'Right.'

(A/N: sorry 🧍🏼‍♀️)
