"The Deathly Hallows?"

"That's right, you haven't heard of them? I'm not surprised. Very, very few wizards believe. For example that one young man who attacked me for sporting the symbol of a well-known dark wizard!"

I looked over at Harry and we both whispered the same name, "Krum."

Mr. Lovegood scoffed and continued, "Such ignorance. There is nothing dark about the Hallows, at least not in that crude sense. One simply uses the symbol to reveal oneself to other believers, in the hope that they might help one with the Quest."

"I'm sorry," Harry shook his head leaning closer, "I still don't really understand."

"Well, you see, believers seek the Deathly Hallows."

"But what are the Deathly Hallows?" Hermione too leaned forwards as they all listened intently. I sighed and leaned back into my chair as I waited for his answer.

Mr. Lovegood set aside his empty teacup as did Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I had politely refused the tea beforehand. And by their reactions when they tried it, I'm glad I did.

"I assume that you are familiar with 'The Tale of the Three Brothers?'"

Harry had shaken his head and said, "No," but Ron, Hermione, and I, all nodded and spoke at once, "Yes."

"Well, well, Mr. Potter, the whole thing starts with 'The Tale of the Three Brothers' I have a copy somewhere..."

He glanced around the room, at the piles of parchment and books, but Hermione reached into her bag and searched for something, "I've got a copy, Mr. Lovegood, I've got it right here."

Soon enough, she pulled out The Tales of Beedle the Bard from the small, beaded bag.

"The original?" Mr. Lovegood asked as she nodded in response, "Well then, why don't you read it out aloud? To make sure we all understand."

"Erm, all right," Hermione nodded nervously but opened the book, as she gave a little cough before she began to read.

"'There were once three brothers who were traveling along a lonely, winding road at twilight--'"

"Midnight, mum always said Midnight," Ron interrupted and I looked up at him as did Hermione, Harry, and Mr. Lovegood. Hermione shot him the most annoyed look and he quickly straightened up and shook his head.

"Sorry, I just think it's a bit better if it's midnight! But twilight works too."

I rolled my eyes and turned to the girl, motioning for her to continue, "Go on, Hermione."

(*** basically just the story like full-on***)

"Right, umm... 'In time, the brothers reached a river too deep to wade through and too dangerous to swim across. However, these brothers were learned in the magical arts, and so they simply waved their wands and made a bridge appear across the treacherous water. They were halfway across it when they found their path blocked by a hooded figure. And Death spoke to them-'"

"Sorry, but Death spoke to them?"

"It's a fairy tale, Harry!" I rolled my eyes and laughed slightly.

"Right, sorry. Go on."

Hermione gave a slight chuckle before continuing again.

"'And Death spoke to them. He was angry that he had been cheated out of the three new victims, for travelers usually drowned in the river. But Death was cunning. He pretended to congratulate the three brothers upon their magic, and said that each had earned a prize for having been clever enough to evade him."
