40. Tying Ends Up

After the war, we held a big memorial for those of the lives lost.

Bella, Fred, Remus, Tonks, and anyone else who lost their lives. It was a hard day for Gen and George, they lost their closest friend and family.

It was a beautiful service and during the time, I had retrieved Teddy from his home.

He was a beautiful baby boy who was in desperate need of a family and I knew the perfect person.

Walking to the back of the hall with him in my arms, I smiled as I approached Bellatrix, "How are you, Bella?"

"Good, dear."

"You were part of my destiny, I don't know why, but you were. 'One with unlimited freedom, the other trapped for life, must bind together in familiar disguise, as they venture to save one another from their own curse.'"

She looked up at me and widened her eyes as she let out a breath, "The prophecy..."

"I had unlimited freedom and you were trapped under Riddle's hand. We came together, using Annabella as our familiar disguise."

Lowering our gazes in remembrance of her, I then placed a hand on her shoulder, "But now, I am freeing you from your curse as you did mine."

"What?"

"Bellatrix, you may not have known... but you showed me that power wasn't everything. And because of that, I'm engaged to the love of my life and will soon have a family."

"Scarlett, I- I never knew."

"You wouldn't have. But it's fine because now, you can have a family of your own. If you choose to. This is Teddy, Teddy Tonks. He's your family and if you can push aside his lineage whatever it may be-"

"Yes."

I raised my brow and looked at her as she smiled, "Yes, I want him. I don't care what his past is. He's family and should be with family."

I smiled and handed Teddy to her as she smiled looking down at him before looking back up, "Thank you, Scarlett. Truly."

Nodding, I soon walked away leaving them before soon comforting those who lost. I stood with Gen as she mourned for her sister and I then walked over to the grave that held Nagini, Lei, and my uncle.

I fell to my knees as I closed my eyes, taking in a deep breath before I opened them again.

After being defeated, Nagini returned to her former form only to still lose her life. I had searched for Lei's body and soon found her before then returning with that of my uncle's.

They were all a big part of my life and I wanted to respect them with the honor they deserved.

Summoning single white roses on their graves, I then felt an arm slip over my shoulder, "Come on, Scar. Let's go home."

I nodded as I stood up before taking Draco's hand in mine and wrapping my other arm around Esmeree's shoulder.

Apparating home, Esmeree ran to her room, changing before she came down again as Draco and I soon waited at the dining table.

Taking her seat, she sat down as we all started eating our food. I smiled as I accioed a piece of parchment onto the table, handing it to her, "What's this?"

Sharing a look with Draco, I looked back at her, "In light of everything, I was hoping you'd want to become a Malfoy."

"A what?"

Draco chuckled and leaned forward, "A Malfoy."

"I'd be your daughter?!"

We chuckled and smiled before she then nodded herself, "Well, more like a sister but you'd have all the benefits me do. And you'd have access to everything we do. If you want to?"

"You've given me a home since I lost my father. You've been more of a mom to me than my fake mothers were. Yeah, you're like a sister... but you've been my mother since you let me sit at that table, first year. I'd love to be a part of your family."

"Oh, Ez, you were always a part of our family."

That's how it went. A few months later, the babies came and our family was strong. But now was the biggest celebration of my life. And I was so excited.

I was finally starting to get a hold of my own life.
