Chapter 8:
---
Walking far away, for a safe distance, and privacy for their conversation, Anzu seems to be very enthusiastic about this as she could be seen lightly skipping as she follows Ray.
Ray is having none of it, but he's hiding his true feelings very well. He turns a corner, behind the strip garage, and leans on the wall, with his arm supporting him. Since he stopped, Anzu also stopped. She's bouncing on her tippy toes as she looks up at Ray - smiling rather naughtily, and joyfully.
This is not exactly...private, as he thinks, but, no one is currently passing by—there's also a tree that hides them from a certain angle.

Ray: "Look, Anzu, um, there's something I gotta tell you."
Anzu: "Ha! Sure, I'll go on a date with you! Just make sure you stock up on dried potatoes and-"
Ray: "That is not what this is all about, woman!"
*Ray's unexpected angered snap made Anzu recoil, and for the first time, she actually showed an expression of fear. Her eyes widen, and her arms slightly go up to her neck defensively, but Ray is not the abusive type. He then calms down, and reassures her.*
Ray: "Sorry I snapped, but we...let's keep this relationship strictly professional until I changed my mind. Look, have you met a guy named 'Audie'?"
Anzu: "'Audie Murphy'? Yeah, I know that guy. He's kind of a dick. When I mentioned to him about this sport that would be perfect for him, he just went ape shit! He tried to strangle me! What a dickhead!"
Ray: "And...it's not because you threatened him to join? The same thing you did to me?"
Anzu: "T-threatened him?! How absurd! You think I'd threaten someone?"
*She looks up at Ray hoping he took it lightly, but...he's not at all amused.*
Anzu: "Okay...so... I might've forced him to be on the role of... Hohei-Jutsu club leader...last week, but that's not a reason for him to act that way! He pushed me against the wall!"
Ray: "I'd do that too if you push me over the limit."
Anzu: "Well, difference is, I might enjoy it if you were the one doing it~"
*Either Anzu is that weird, or she's doing the number one tactic of making your captors uncomfortable by being VERY submissive. It worked for him though.*
Ray: "Look, Anzu... Audie is a...temperamental guy. I know a few temperamental guys myself; Andrew, he's our youngest, but often he can freak out when he's angry. We calm him down with noogies, but, over time, he can control his anger now. But that's not relevant to our conversation right now. Listen, can...you do me a favour? Can you apologise to him?"
Anzu: "A...apologise?! You think I'm just gonna apologise after what he did to me?"
Ray: "I'm gonna speak pragmatically here; Audie and his gang are paintball players like me, except, with those names like that, for sure they're related to certain war heroes. Imagine having war heroes in our team, that would be good, is it? If we want to win, guaranteed, then...if they're on our side, it would be good!"
Anzu: "You make a convincing point, but here's the thing... I'm still pissed off at that."
Ray: "He is too!"
