Chapter 27:

---

Rachel's sudden outburst was, while expected, scary nonetheless. It affected mostly Darjeeling's companions, but it still shook up their spine, that it sends a cold chill up and down.

By the way, Darjeeling and her two companions decided to join Ray at poking fun at their huge decks. They're on their way to the fort as they speak...or, if they still speak.

It became awkward after Rachel got into a bit of an iffy; Andrew had to stay behind to make sure Rachel won't put Darjeeling's womb in the tomb. She is known for kicking below the belt, and it...usually happens towards women, apparently. Recalling how she did say that the dangling jewel pouches the men have are not a challenging game, and it's not worth it considering it's very easy to break.

She...is a barbarian...

Darjeeling was weirdly unfazed by her outburst...in fact, she might've put more fuel in the fire back there. Talking to her is right out, and talking to her companions shall not count. Pekoe, the orange haired girl that served Ray tea at the beginning of the match, is sometimes seen glancing back at times...frequently, it was towards Ray's direction.

When Ray met her gaze, she looks away, fast. He was confused, and don't know what to make of this, but the sniggering from the folks behind would mean they instantly guessed what's happening between them.

As the walk turned awkward even more, Ray decided to broach a topic to Michael, in hopes to turning it into a conversation so long it was able to reach the port.

---

Ray: "Mikey?"

Michael: "Yeah?"

Ray: "Just...how did you take out the entire fort?"

Michael: "Heh. That's a bit too over the top, isn't it? They simply just ran in front of my sights, and... I just shoot. There. It's done."

John: "Mate...it's a fucking massacre, that's what happened."

Vince: "You all forgettin' somethin'? Michael had his finger chopped off and replaced with a bionic one."

Ray: "Oh, right, I forgot about that."

Golden haired companion: "I'm sorry, what?"

Darjeeling: "They said Michael's finger was chopped off and replaced, Assam."

Assam: "Yes! I heard!... But...they brushed it off as if it's just a normal topic!"

Darjeeling: "Huh. Now that you brought it up. Michael, just...what happened to your finger that led to you...having to replace it? And...where is this finger?"

Benji: "Oh boy... Oh dear..."

Peter: "We've all thought of the same thing...didn't we?"

*As awkward silence followed soon after, what came next were a shroud of nodding and mumbling of 'Yep'. Pekoe flustered over eavesdropping...it seems she was also thinking the same thing.*

*Michael raised his right hand, and wiggled his index finger. Looking a bit closer, it's shining and it looks plastic. It's also discoloured from his skin tone. Michael's pale as snow, while this is...well... You get what I mean.*
