A Different Beginning ~ Part 11~ Updated: 12/28/14 Late evening

Everyone’s breath froze and slowly the thought registered.

“What…” Victor whispered his baritone voice was an octave lower than usual sending chills up my spine.

“Sun of a fucking…” North swore loudly.

I felt hands on me and I began to shake and flinch as the boy’s broke out into a fit of anger my eyes rushed around the room and met Silas’s eyes who just looked so utterly shattered. I couldn’t breathe. I wheezed deeply. Why had I said something.

“BACK UP!” Mr. Blackbourne yelled and the boy’s eyes found mine tears rushing down as I tried to breathe.

I felt hands on my back making me flinch hard moving away from them. I cried out in pain when they found my back again touching a bruise. I heard yelling and I couldn’t process.

“Sang! Sang!…. Damnit” Dr. Green came into view. “Sang Pookie you need to breathe… Pookie…” He whispered into my ear. “I am going to touch your back and lean you back.”

I felt the hands and I laid down slowly, the bed moving down to a sixty degree angle. I sucked in breaths wheezing and slowly opened my eyes. Silas was by my side having replaced North. “Aggele… just me… I am going to touch your hair okay?”

Tears slipped down my cheeks nodding and I felt the warmth of his long fingers on my scalp. I closed my eyes and felt Silas lean forward. “I am so sorry Aggele…” I nodded my head a little feeling his fingers work through my hair and scalp. “Who did this?” He whispered and I  lightly shook my head not wanting to respond. “Okay Aggele.  Okay you don’t have to answer….” There was silence and my eyes flicked open finding Silas’s eyes filling with tears. He began to speak again and I slowly reached up and touched his lips with a single finger.

“You did not *Wheeze* do this.” I spoke as clearly as I could putting force behind my words even as I wheezed. My eyes connected to Silas not wavering. He looked stunned but slowly accepted my words and slowly took my small bandaged hand in his and placed a soft kiss on my  bandaged knuckles. I didn’t flinch this time. I smiled softly and squeezed his hand lightly.

Dr. Green appeared in my view and smiled softly. “Pookie you okay to sit up?” He whispered and I nodded a little feeling the bed move back up into a comfortable sitting position. Looking out the boy’s had shifted to the other side of the room giving me space but I could see it on their faces that they weren’t okay.

“Guys…” I whispered and shifted my hand waving them back over.

Instantly they were back over at my side and I felt surprisingly comfortable for the amount of people in the room. I breathed softly in and out letting the oxygen do its job and help. Silas didn’t let go of my hand and I held onto it as well not wanting the warmth of his hand to disappear just yet. Their comfort meant more than mine.

Over the next hour, I rested in my large hospital bed talking with the boys about the forest. They had been curious as to what I was doing out in the tree and I talked about the clouds and my trees.
