A Different Beginning ~ Part 48 ~ Updated: 2/3/15 Late Evening

Closing my phone I carefully placed it back on the table before lightly caressing Nathan's cheek. He looked exhausted, there were light circles under his eyes still from the lack of sleep. Carefully, I pulled up the covers moving them around him. He shifted a little in response and opened his eyes focusing on me before smiling softly. I leaned down and placed a very soft kiss on his forehead retuning the smile. "Hey..." I whispered and I slipped my hand into his. "How are you feeling?"

He shifted a little so that he could hold my hand better and relaxed with a soft breath. "Tired still but better. Thank you for letting me rest with you." I laughed softly and ran my fingers through his hair brushing it out of his face.

"Any time Honey." Watching him he studied me and slowly slipped his hand out of mine before touching my lip. Pain radiated and I flinched a little making him pause as I calmed down and leaned back against the bed letting the pain disappear. Nathan shifted into a sitting position and lightly caressed my cheek taking another look at my lip. I stayed still just watching. He then slowly took a look at my cheek and frowned lightly.

"There is a bruise on your cheek as well." He whispered and I glanced down biting my lip instinctively and quickly regretted it as the pain came back. Nathan's eyes widened as I let out a soft groan and he lightly touched my jaw pulling my lip free. Tasting blood I quickly sat up and Nathan pulled over a cloth placing it to my mouth. "Sorry I didn't mean to-" I squeezed his hand and he quieted his eyes shimmering with worry.

"Sang?" Surprised I looked up spotting Dr. Roberts in the doorway. I pulled the cloth away from my mouth.

"I'm-" I swallowed blood and started to cough hard. Tears brimming instantly as my ribs shook and Nathan's hands rushed around me guiding me into a sitting position.

"Sang.." He whispered into my ear pulling my hair away as I coughed up blood.

"Sang." Dr. Roberts was close his hand touching my cheek lightly. I glanced up through tears and he handed me a small cup of water which I quickly swallowed. Nathan's hands touched my sides as Dr. Roberts's hands found my shoulders guiding me back against the bed. I took a weak breath and spotted Silas in the doorway. His eyes widened in panic as he met my eyes and he rushed forward instantly.

"Aggele!?" He called out in surprise and pain. Nathan held up a hand as he rushed over.

"It's not as bad as it looks." Nathan reassured as Silas approached.

I closed my eyes taking shallow breaths and Dr. Robert's hands rushed to my chest and my neck. "Easy Sang... Easy does it..." He responded keeping me pressed to the bed and lightly cupped my cheek trying to reassure me. Nodding weakly, I continued to take soft breaths trying to force the air into my lungs as tears slipped down my cheeks.

Nathan shifted away from my side and I panicked opening my eyes scared. I tried to speak but my breath caught. I coughed hard again and tried to reach for Nathan but Silas quickly caught my hand squeezing it. "Right here Aggele. I am not leaving." His voice was filled with pain. "He went to get a towel to clean you up."

"Baby?" Turning a little I glanced to the doorway spotting North, Gabriel, Victor, Luke, and Kota. I watched as all of their faces turned into shock. Gabriel and Luke swore loudly and Kota paled. North was dead silent. Tears slipped down my face faster as I panicked and Silas shifted quickly in front of my vision of them.

"Sang you need to calm down." Dr. Roberts ushered and I nodded quickly closing my eyes tight.

"SANG!" North yelled and I flinched trying to focus on breathing and Silas's hand disappeared. I let out a mangled cry as my eyes flashed open searching for them. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHAT IS GOING ON!" North continued to scream and Luke quickly caught my hand in his as I trembled. I heard yelling in Greek and Nathan reappeared at my side his hand slipping into mine.
