Reasonable Doubts

Elevator door opens.

Bishop: "Hey Jack, how's-oooh no."
Jenny: "Jethro, what are you doing here!?"
McGee: "Boss, what are you doing?"

Ziva: "Gibbs!"

Kasie: "Oh no, hi Gibbs."

Tony: "Boss, go back to the hospital."

Gibbs: (Whistles) " NOW! Who the hell is trying to kill me?"
Torres: "What the hell man!?"
Jack: "You're not going to get him to go back."
Bishop: "Why didn't you stop him?"
Jack: "I thought I did, but he signed himself out and found me in the parking lot."
Tony: "How'd he get to the parking lot that fast."
Jack: "Hell if I know!"
Gibbs: "Who the hell is trying to kill me?"

Ducky: "Jethro, you should sit down."
Gibbs: "Someone tell me."

They all just stare at the man they've known for years and the pain in his eyes, they finally decide to tell him.

Jenny: "Jethro, we'll start from the beginning, Agent McGee."
McGee: "Alright boss, 5 years ago, just 2 months after you were sent to Iraq, there was a wire transfer, from the White House, 250 grand, this was sent by mystery woman #1."
Bishop: "Then we found emails about your whereabouts with the MARSOC team, they were following you since Bahrain."

Torres: "The sniper that shot into NCIS, we dug the bullets out of the wall with zero damage, they were-'
Gibbs: "Let me guess Lapua, hollow point, full metal jacket, moly coated bullet?"

Torres: "Yeah, how'd you-"
Gibbs: "That's what I used in the Corps, if they want to make this about me, then-"
Tony: "They use what you used to kill their people, and they use the same thing to kill you."
Gibbs: "Yeah."
Bishop: "Then the mole in autopsy was as we know-"
Gibbs:"Saudi Foreign minister Abdul Selam, who's been a big donor to Hizb al- shahid."

Ziva: "Then the second transfer 8 months ago, another 250 grand."
Gibbs: "Good to know I'm only worth 500 grand."
Bishop: "After looking through the dozens of painful emails, we know the account number and the IRS is locating it right now."
Jack: "Why were the emails painful?"
Tony: "The number of terrible insults."

Ziva: "These people hate him so much they want him killed, but they couldn't come up with better insults?"

Jack: "What'd they say?"
Bishop: "Here are some of the highlights, I found more: Grey haired bastard, uhh, old son a bitch, here's a good one- no that's not what I-you know what I mean."
Torres: "What does it say?"

Bishop: "That Gibbs is living proof a man can live without a brain."

Gibbs: (Bursts out laughing) "I'm pretty Ducky's called me worse, hell even Leon."

All: (Laughing)

McGee: "It's good to have you back boss."
Gibbs: "I never actually left."
Bishop: "What?"

Gibbs: "Oh I'm not going to tell you that."
Torres: "How do we know you're not bluffing?"
Gibbs: "Chief Petty Officer Kim Johnson, killed by her 11 year old daughter, by accident, 3 years ago."
Torres: "You could have seen that on the news."
Gibbs: "Lance Corporal Fynn Bryan, shot and killed in an ally after a drug deal gone bad, 4 years ago, Seaman Addison Brookes, stabbed on the USS Seahawk by Machinist mate John Authers 2 years ago, Private First Class, Ted Adams, staged suicide, turns out he was killed by a jealous ex, 5 years ago. Need I go on?"

They all stand there in shock as the ones who still work there recall each case he just named.

Tony: "By the look on all of your faces, Gibbs just schooled you, didn't he?"

Bishop: "Yes, Tony, he did."
McGee: "H-how do you know all of that?"
Torres: "Did you have Fornell spy for you?"
Gibbs: "3 years ago Tobias was in Barbados, so he couldn't have know this one: Marine Gunny killed in his home, on base, just after his wife and daughter left for the weekend, wasn't planned, 19 year old Jackson Smith, son of Major Jake Smith, broke into the house and the Gunny was a loose end."

Jack: "That is true, Fornell was in Barbados."

Tony: "Boss, you need to tell me how you know."

Gibbs: "In the case that I couldn't be here, I had Abby make this."

Gibbs pulls a thumbtack off the corkboard from behind his old desk.

Torres: "So you didn't trust us!?"
Gibbs: "You're all more than capable Agents-

Bishop: "Then why have you been spying on us, huh?"
Gibbs: ".....I wanted to make sure none of you got hurt."

They all stand there, staring at Gibbs, then big smiles appear on all of their faces.

Tony: "How long have you had that boss?"
Gibbs: "...Since Kate was killed."
Torres: "Who's Kate?"
Ziva: "The woman before me."

Torres: "Oh."
Bishop: "How does it still work?"
Gibbs: "Abby upgraded it every couple of years."
Jenny: "Jethro, how many of those things do you have?"
Gibbs: "Oh, that's classified."

Vance: "Special...Agent...Gibbs."

Jenny: "He's in trouble now."
Tony: "I would pay to see this go down."
Vance: "Welcome Back."
Ducky: "Well that was anticlimactic."

McGee: (With a big grin) "Boss, why don't you sit down..at your desk."

Vance: "Hell, with all he's done, I'm half tempted to give him mine."
Gibbs: "That an offer Leon?"

Vance: "Sit your ass in that chair before I chain you to it."
Gibbs: (Laughs)

Gibbs sat down in the chair he hasn't sat in for almost 6 years, and everything began to feel normal again.

Gibbs: "Jack, get me a profile, Duck, help her."

Gibbs: "DiNozzo, you help Torres with the IRS."

Gibbs: "Ziver, help Bishop with the emails."

Gibbs: "And Jen...look into DNI's staff history."

Gibbs: (With a smirk) "...Get to work!"
