Unwanted Worries

Gibbs falls asleep soon after the doctor leaves and Jack soon falls asleep in a chair in Gibbs' room. Jack starts having another nightmare. Why is she still having nightmares?

Jack goes over to Gibbs' house un-announced, and walks through the always unlocked door. She walks in and sees Gibbs asleep on his couch, with a half a shot of bourbon in his hand.

Jack: "Hey cowboy."
Jack:"Gibbs."
Gibbs: "Yeah-hey Jack."
Gibbs: "It's 1 in the morning, something wrong?"
Jack: "Need someone to talk to, I didn't mean to wake you."
Gibbs: "What's wrong?"

Jack: "If I told you, neither of us would get sleep."
Gibbs: "This is more important, what's wrong?"
Jack: "I can't sleep, I keep having these-these-"
Gibbs: "Nightmares?"

Jack: "Yeah."
Gibbs: "If you don't want to talk about it...I get it."
Jack: "Thanks, I just need someone to talk to."

As they sit there talking, they hear tires squealing, then a shower of bullets rain through the windows and walls of Gibbs house. Gibbs wraps his body around Jack, absorbing the bullets, like a human shield.

Gibbs: "JACK! GET DOWN!"
Jack: "GIBBS!"
Gibbs: "AGH!"
Gibbs: "AGH!"

When the bullets stop, and the car speeds away, Gibbs has dozens of bullets in his back. He hits the ground, as Jack tries her best to keep him alive.

Jack: "Why did you do that?"
Gibbs: "Couldn't let you get hurt."

Jack: "Gibbs stay with me!"

Gibbs: "I liked talking with you."

Jack: "Yeah and we'll keep talking, come on."
Jack: "Come on Gibbs. Come on!"

Jack: "GIBBS!"

Jack sits there, she starts hearing Gibbs' voice.

Gibbs: "Jack! Jack, are you okay?"

Jack: (Jolts awake) "NO, you can't die!"
Gibbs: "Jack, are you alright?"
Jack: "Yeah Gibbs, I-I'm fine."

Gibbs: "No-agh-you're not."

Gibbs: "What's going on?"

Jack: "I had a nightmare."

Gibbs: "What was it about?"

Jack: "Trust me if I tell you, neither of us will sleep."
Gibbs: "Ja-Jack, you're-this is more important."

Jack: "....In my dream, someone I really...care about...dies...and I don't know ho-how to handle that."

When Jack finally tells Gibbs what's wrong, she starts to cry. Gibbs is confused, but still tries to comfort her.

Gibbs: "Hey, hey it's alright."

Jack: "No, it's not."
Gibbs: "Look I can't tell that this person is okay, maybe call them."

Jack: "It's kinda easy to call him, considering he's sitting right in front of me."
Gibbs: "What?"

Jack: "Gibbs, the nightmares are about you."
Gibbs: "Why?"

Jack: "I can't lose you Gibbs, I can't, not again."
Gibbs: "Jack I-"

Jack: "No Gibbs, you don't understand, I don't know what I would do if I lost you, I really don't."

Jack: "I'd be so lost if you left me alone."

Gibbs: "Come here."

Jack: "What are you-"
Gibbs: "Come here, come here."

Gibbs: (Hugs her) "You're not gonna lose me."

Jack: "I can't imagine a world with you gone."

Gibbs: "Agh-It's okay."
Gibbs: "It's okay."

Jack: "Why did you save me?"

Gibbs: "Couldn't let you get hurt."
