"Fucking finally! OI! GET THE EXPERT IN HERE WOULDJA!? We've got one goddamn day left until we air this bullshit and only now does he get up..."
The lanky boy sat up from wherever he'd been laying, his sticky, sleep-soaked eyes following the newest figure in the room.
"Y'know how much of a hard time the fans gave us for keeping him out of the last one? It was fucking chaos out there! 'But no no no, Gene!' They told me, 'You've gotta give him a break! It's been season after season nonstop!' I wouldn't be surprised if he were dreamin' fuckin' Dangan by now!"
"What...?" The boy blinked rapidly, trying to get the world to come into focus. A blurry figure came into view, one with bright blue hair and glasses so it seemed. Whoever it was violently grabbed his face and pulled it upward, turning it ever so slightly to peer at the most minute details. The boy felt a twinge of something familiar in his gut, instinctively grabbing the blue-haired figure's wrist and yanking it away. The person scoffed, rubbing their hand.
"I can certainly tell why he's a favorite," A new voice chimed in, "Feisty at first glance, but truly a fair guy. I can't wait to see him in action," The voice was connected to a figure dressed in mostly black. The owner of the original voice handed the new one something and got a little closer to the boy's face.
"I hope you're ready for a new one pretty boy, they're gonna love you,"
"Wh... what do you mean?" The boy cracked out. The figure in his face, who was slowly getting clearer, growled. But rather than express that anger, they stood and gestured towards the boy.
"Felix, at least try to explain it to Mr. Tsudeki. I need the dumbfuck in top shape tomorrow," With that, the blue-haired figure, that must've been the aforementioned Gene, left. Felix sat on the edge of the boy's hospital bed, giving their coworker a lazy thumbs up before turning to him.
"Welcome back, Taro. You've been missed,"
