-Chapter 2_Part 2-
"There he is!" Osoro cheered once the boys entered the cafeteria. Akemi waved a bit, being pulled into a tight hug from her before he could say anything. There was worry behind her grip, worry she never showed on her face. Eventually, the indecisive girl pulled away and smiled brightly, guiding Akemi to the long table, "We've been waiting y'know, the pancakes are getting cold!"
"Pancakes?" Akemi questioned. Sayori nodded from her seat next to him.
"Yes, Osoro made them. I think they're absolutely delicious!" She said. Akemi's eyes widened.
"Well shoot, I definitely want some if Sayori's critiqued them," Akemi said. Osoro giggled.
"Sure thing Akemi!"
"Glad you two are getting along well," Taro said from down the table. Akemi looked at him and grinned nervously.
"You two are siblings, right," Akemi said. Taro's mouth turned to his typical half-smile.
"Yep, don't go hurting my sister young man," The witch replied. Akemi swallowed hard, earning laughter from both Tsudeki's at the table, "Relax dude, I'm kidding,"
"Uh... Yeah..."
"S-s-s-so d-do we w-wait here 't-t-til the others sh-show?" Yutio asked, quietly. Taro shrugged.
"Guess so," he said, "Usually in Danganronpa we're supposed to get another motive every time we make it through a trial. That and a new location unlocked, but I'm pretty sure everything's already unlocked," Taro glanced to her peripheral vision, and gently pulled Yutio's hands out of their mouth, handing them what looked like a charleston chew from his own pocket. Yutio thanked him quietly and began knawing on it with their sharp teeth. Meanwhile, Taro turned back to the engineer, "Me and Yutio were looking around last night, and we planned on doing it again today,"
"Yutio and I, dear," Ahaki corrected him, coming in from the father doors. Taro didn't turn to acknowledge her but glared nonetheless. Ahaki smiled like she knew she'd annoyed him and took a seat at a table away from everyone else, beginning a prayer.
"Exploring sounds like fun," A kid with light brown hair and white bangs came in from the same door, but something was off about them, Akemi could tell. He'd definitely seen them before, but they looked different. Way more... feminine?
The kid sat down and tapped his fingers on the table for a second before looking up at Akemi with a tired expression. Akemi smiled at him and held his hand out.
"Hi, I'm Akemi, I don't think we've met," He said. The kid raised a brow and rolled his eyes, shaking Akemi's hand nevertheless.
"Haru Yamagata," He replied. He seemed grumpy.
"Oh, I don't think we've talked yet," Akemi said. Haru let go of the engineer's hand and grabbed an apple from the bowl on the table.
"Oh really..." He said absent-mindedly. Akemi nodded, getting more and more uncomfortable with the boy's attitude. And something about his sweater seemed weirdly familiar...
"Oh! Hey Haru!" Osoro greeted the grumpy boy. She smiled with her eyes closed, but once she opened them her face twisted with shock, "Oh my god, are you wearing Anon's sweater!?" Akemi's lilac eyes widened. That's where I'd seen it before!
"Yeah, and?" Haru said, taking a loud bite from the fruit. Akemi cringed, seeing even the cool collected Taro lean back a bit.
"That's fucked up Haru," Taro remarked. Haru rolled his eyes.
