Chapter 3_Part 6

"Oh fuck," Orochi crouched down by the ginger girl's body.

"I know," Akemi said, "But that's not the worst of it," The engineer lead them up the stairs and showed them behind the bloody marijuana plant.

"Jesus..." Daichi commented.

"Tatsuya..." Orochi said. He then titled his head a bit, "Well, maybe it's Touro. I can't tell without the top clothing, they wear identical bottoms," He turned to his red-haired companion and gestured to the other stairwell, "Go grab the others," Daichi glared at him.

"Do I look like your goddamn--" Orochi shot her a look, and she averted her eyes and started stomping away, "F-fine..."

"What's that about?" Akemi asked, trying not to look at the corpse. Orochi shook his head.

"Nothing, now let's see which it is,"

The toxicologist reached through the foliage and pulled the black satin off of the body's eyes, which really didn't help that much. Both Watanabe's had intact green eyes. He sighed and pulled the body out, finding that its arms and legs were bound with the same fabric. Meanwhile, loud footsteps came from the far hallway.

"Oh my god please tell me it's not--!" Was heard, followed by an anguished scream, and a thud. Akemi looked to the sound of the disturbance, to see the other ginger boy on the floor crying.

"I'm so sorry, Touro," Akemi said, moving to comfort him. Orochi grunted, looking away with sorrow in his eyes. Everyone else came rushing up as well, including the one person that Akemi had wished didn't need to be a part of this.

The tall boy tapped Akemi on the shoulder to get his attention. When Akemi saw him, he stood and turned. Koto made a motion like he was wearing binoculars, then covered his eyes completely. Akemi's brows furrowed, he tried to keep his tears away and took Koto's hand.

The author raised a brow in confusion. Akemi looked down sadly and started guiding Koto to the nearer staircase. Though Akemi couldn't see it, for he refused to look the taller boy in the eyes, Koto was catching on, and dearly hoping he was wrong.

The brunette finally made it to the bottom of the stairs, not able to hold back a loud sniffle. Koto stumbled back, something Akemi had never seen the stoic boy ever do. His expression was terrified and filled with the deepest, most heartfelt kind of despair.

Kotoba slowly and shakily walked to his deceased love, falling to his knees next to her. He reached out and caressed her face in his hands, hot tears falling neatly down his flawless pale brown skin. Koto's crying was silent but filled with violence. His lanky body jerked almost disturbingly. Akemi found the sight pitiful, and couldn't bear to look.

Eventually, Koto sat back on his knees and wiped his eyes. His black and gold eyepatch had come loose and fallen off, showing Akemi the sight underneath. Or rather, the lack of sight.

Koto's left eye looked like Sayori's, whited over and milky. He had a long, misshapen scar running from the top of his cheek, all the way to his hairline. Clearly, Koto knew how Sayori had felt, and what it meant for the world to be dark. Besides his love for her, he shared an understanding as well, making that care run even deeper. And he had no way to tell her.

Footsteps came from behind Akemi, making him jump slightly. Orochi had brought the other students down to see the other body as well, earning many different reactions.
