The Dorms

- Prologue - 

"NO, PLEASE NOT NOW!"

The boy shot up from his dream, drenched in a cold sweat. He shakily pushed a hand through his tangled hair, scanning his surroundings with a panicked look in his eyes.

He stood up, the weight of his own body startling him. His height too. For some strange reason, he couldn't recall being so short, nor so heavy.

Well, that's a little mean. I'm not that heavy. He thought to himself. The boy looked around the room, finding it to be rather cozy once he actually took it in.

It seemed like he was in a dorm room of some kind. There were no windows, just a door on either side of the room, and the walls were mostly blank, give or take a few pictures and posters of topics that were slowly coming back to him. Though, it was only on the right side of the room. The other side of the room was decked out in colorful pictures and even stuffed animals on the walls. Are those puppets? What the heck...

The boy's eyes drifted to the bed he woke up on, making him jump in surprise. As it turns out, he was not alone. Upon the bed, lying next to where he had been, was a person just a few inches taller than the boy himself. They had unnaturally long green hair and a fairly grungy wardrobe of unsaturated dark purples and bright whites.

He walked slowly to their side of the bed and shook them lightly, realizing once he tilted his head up that there was a mirror on the wall that the head of the bed rested against. He met his own lilac eyes. Yep, that's me. Akemi Takahashi. He went back to shaking the figure on the bed. Please don't be dead, man.

"Huh?" The unnamed figure said groggily. They sat up slowly and rubbed their eye, pushing their circular frames out of the way to do so, "Wh-where am I? Who are you?" Questions spewed out of their mouth. Akemi sighed and backed up to give them some space. Lord knows if they were violent.

"I'm Akemi... uh, He/They," Akemi answered, trying to subtly fix his messy hair, "What about you?"

"Luci with an 'I', She/They," they said. Akemi couldn't help but smile in relief. She didn't seem hostile, so that was good. Luci straightened her glasses and looked around, "Nice place... Uh, where are we?"

"Beats me," Akemi replied, copying her eyes, "I just woke up. Had a terrible nightmare too! It was about... uh..." He racked his brain, but couldn't remember. All he knew was it had been terrifying, "Huh. I can't remember," Luci shrugged, straightening almost immediately after as if she had some sort of epiphany.

"Wait! What do you remember doing before you woke up?" She said with urgency to her tone. Akemi put his hands up in defense.

"Uh..." He thought hard, finally getting it with a few seconds delay, "Oh! I had just walked to school! I was starting at--"

"--Hope's Peak." Luci finished for him, "I was too." Before Akemi could respond, an obnoxious voice came over the loudspeaker.

"AHEM. Testing, Testing, 1! 2! 3! There we go! Good morning students! I know you may be a bit... frazzled, to say the least, but please exit your dorms and come to the multipurpose room on the first floor for orientation! Oh, and remember take your roommate with you, whether they're asleep or not! All will be explained! Well, most of it anyways. Cya thereeeeee!"

"What was that?" Akemi asked. Luci shrugged.

"I dunno... But we might as well listen, that's the only instruction we've got," She replied, standing from the bed and dusting her white plaid skirt off, "Maybe whoever that was can explain how we got here from Hope's Peak! C'mon, let's go, Amnesia-kemi!" She took him by the wrist and pulled him to his door, opening it with the key that hung from a thin wire on the doorknob.

"Amnesia-kemi?" he asked. Luci smiled.

"Just a nickname, now c'mon!"

surprise! Akemi Takahashi will be your Protagonist!

I don't have post schedule so idk if updates will be spotty, but the end of my school year is coming soon so either their will be a lot of posting or a little
