< 🔥 J POV 🔥 >
Bella was fine for the first two periods of school. She seemed happy. Luke said her wolf was happy too. When we got out of our second class she said she was going to the bathroom. Although Luke didn't want to let her out of our sight, we knew that following would be her would be a step too far and definately count as clingy. We didn't want to do anything to damage our feeble relationship with Bella.
While I was in the line in the canteen a feeling of emptiness suddenly washed over me. It was as if our connection with Bella was floating away. I had felt this feeling before, when I was running an unconscious Bella to hospital, and immediately paniacked. What was happening to her? Was she hurt? What if she was being kidnapped?
Completely zoning out, I managed to uncoordinatedly trip over a chair and fall flat on my face before running out of the room and down towards the bathrooms. I bolted into the ladies, not giving a fuck that I was 100% man, and glanced around frantically. Bella was standing in the middle of the room with blank, lost-looking eyes. It appeared as if her soul had left her body and she was merely but an empty shell.
Panicking, I stood and watched in bewilderment as she blindly stumbled over to the sinks and stared unblinkingly into the glass. "Bella?" I asked, tentatively. Instead of replying, she presently began gagging into the sink. Nothing came up, however, but that may have been due to the little amount of food she had been eating. I was extremely worried for her health and I didn't want her to starve.
While in my reverie, Bella had began to hyperventilate, and I was brought back into awareness by the fabulous sound of regurgitation. I breathed a sigh of relief as I felt noticeably whole again, noting the familiar presence of Emmy. Glancing up, Bella whispered that she was leaving and Luke began to panic. She's leaving us! She's going to get hurt!!! She's injured already!!!!!
"Bella!" I called after her. "I wouldn't..." But she was already gone.

My watch beeped five minutes. Then it was ten. Then it was fifteen. And then I was worried. I understood that Bella needed air and space, not to mention no one really wanted to be around her while she was emotionally unstable, but I didn't understand why she had to be gone for quite so long. We enjoyed keeping tabs on her, and not knowing her exact location made Lucas overly anxious.
After 30 minutes, I went to the car park and pulled out my keys. Except, I didn't have my keys. "Fuck" I swore. It was obvious who did have my keys, but it wasn't quite so obvious as to where the used the keys to drive to. My best bet was Bella's house, but if the car wasn't there, there was a hell of a lot of forest to search, as well as a reasonably sized town.
I sprinted out the school grounds and along the few streets that lead to her house. When I arrived, the car was nowhere to be seen. I swore under my breath and took off again, this time towards the forest. I scoured the treeline streets for my car, and eventually found it. It was unoccupied and hadn't been used in a while. Bella had to be in the forest.
I couldn't understand why she would endanger her life like that. She was in no physical or mental state to look after herself, let alone fend off rogues.
I followed her scent trail into the forest, where it began to get iffy. Woodland had such deep undergrowth and so many animal occupants, that it was hard to track a scent. Especially if the scent's owner was being careful. And unfortunately Bella was.
Luke began to go slightly loopy. We couldn't find her. She was gone. She was defenceless in the forest.
It was those kind of thoughts and this kind of madness that let him slip in. Between frantic self loathing and desperate longing, he crept in unnoticed. I ran around the forest and the town. I ran through the forest some more. I beat up some trees. I didn't notice the headache begin. I was wrapped up in memories of Carter's disappearance when the buzzing started. By the time it got loud and insistent enough for me to notice it, it was too late. I was too focused on finding Bella to put in the effort to stop him. I like to think that I put up a fight. I know I didn't really.
We ran through the forest as him. Or more he ran through the forest. When it was me or Luke it was we, but with him, it was just him. He didn't want to find Bella because he loved her. He wanted to find her so he could claim her. He was old fashioned and barbaric. He considered mates as possessions one needed to fulfil your role in society. He only wanted Bella as an effective trophy wife.
That was why I wanted to stay away from Bella and Grace. I didn't want any girl to have to go through that. I understand that women have rights and I actually want my mate to be an active member of the community. I would rather have no mate then have a mate who feels oppressed and does nothing except stand around looking pretty and have kids to continue the bloodline.
I haven't even touched upon the fact that he goes around killing things for fun. He was the reason that Carter disappeared. But Carter never disappeared. Carter was...
The monster pulled my consciousness away completely.

"Run"
Carter ran straight past me, not bothering to stop, and looking into the shadows, I began to run too.
We sprinted through the trees, Carter on my left hand side. We were going to make it to the clearing. To the path. To the road. To the house. To safety.
And then Carter tripped.
And they were upon us.
"Carter!" I screamed while shifting. I could see him fighting one off... and losing. Red tinged my vision. I was VERY angry.
"Noo-"
Something inside me snapped. A rogue lunged at me but I ducked just in time to miss his attack and launch one of my own. I tore out his throat quickly and moved onto the next. It didn't matter that I was only 12 years old, I could kill all of these rogues easily.
Slowly, I fought my way to Carter. But I was mad. So mad. I could figure out who was enemy and who was friend. The only thing I could decipher in my head was KILL. And kill I did.
I killed everyone in the fight. I saved my life. But I killed everyone in the fight. Including my younger brother.
Carter was dead...
I jolted back into consciousness suddenly, and immediately noticed the smell of fresh blood. In front of me lay the torn up carcass of a rogue. Except, at closer inspection it wasn't a rogue at all. It was a dog. An ordinary household pet. And it had Bella's scent all over it.

A/N
I'm so sorry I haven't updated in ages. I've gave school and life and stuff.
Btw these chapters are also really difficult to write because they need to join the end to the rest of the story. It's like making superglue out of words.
Hope u liked the chapter. Tell me what u thought in the comments!
