Chapter 4: I Don't Want A Mate!

🔥 JACKSON'S P.O.V. 🔥

Something had been making me feel uneasy for the whole day. By the time it got to morning tea time i was feeling so on edge that even the slightest sudden movement would make me jump.

As I strolled towards the cafeteria I smelt the most amazing scent. It smelt like pine needles and ice cream. Weird combination right? It was literally the sweetest and intoxicating scent EVER.

Two of the three new girls turned the corner. They both were dressed really casually and you see that they had a nerdy vibe. Shit. The scent was coming from one of them. 'Mate!!!' My wolf Lucas yipped. I couldn't believe it; I had a nerd for a mate.

The taller girl turned around and stared at me. Her eyes were so captivating. They were bright blue and went with her brownish blonde hair so well. I took in her eyes, her nose and her lips. She had the most amazing fac... What the hell???? Why the fuck was I thinking like that?

Laughter snapped me out of my daze. My mate was practically laughing her fucking ass off. "What are you laughing at?" I growled. "You" she replied. What?!? No one laughs at me! "I should be laughing at you, you're the nerd" I said. "What's wrong with me?"I was desperate to know what she thought of me. I wanted her approval. I wanted her to... uh oh... why does this keep happening?

"Umm let's see" she said making a show of contemplation. "You are a player as far as I can tell, probably quite the powerful bad boy." What? How can she just assume things like that? I haven't slept with that many bitches, well; I don't think I have... I tend to lose count. And just because I'm the almost alpha and enjoy beating people up does not mean i am a 'powerful bad boy' I just means I have slight anger issues, not that I would ever admit that or that anyone cares, it's normal for an alpha. Anyway, she's my mate so she shouldn't be saying shit like that, even if I am about to reject her.

What my mate did next shocked me "I, Grace Stanley, reject you, random guy, as my mate" I couldn't believe it. She rejected ME! But I'm so fabulous... I started laughing hysterically. Even though my mate, grace, hadn't rejected me properly, it still made my job a hell of a lot easier. Now I knew she didn't like me. My wolf whimpered but I shut him out. He needs to get over grace, she's just a girl. "I was going to do that" i said. "Beat you to it" she retaliated, smirking.

Grace's friend turned to her. "I thought you said you wanted a mate?" She said. Grace glanced at me and replied, "yeah i did, but he's a player who is just going to sleep with every fucking girl he sees and break my heart or just outright reject me so I don't see the point" I don't sleep with every girl I see but I am going to reject her. Her friend gave a small nod "Good point" she said.

Grace and her friend were about to leave but I pushed my mate up against some lockers. I felt so good to touch her. "I, Jackson Collins, reject you, Grace Stanley, as my mate" i said. Lucas howled in pain. Grace looked at me with pity in her eyes and said "okay" before walking away with her friend.

Lucas looked at her with longing and then shut me out. Fantastic, my wolf hates me.

I ran into the forest and quickly shifted. I need to decide if rejecting grace was really a good idea. my parents had always said that I should stop being such a player and this was my chance. I also needed a mate to be Luna and help me run the pack. I sighed. Grace looked like she would make an okay Luna and I had to admit that she was rather pretty but she just didn't show it that much. my thoughts were so confusing...

A/N First ever Jackson's POV! I still think he's a dip shit... But he'll get better. I should probably be studying for my science test because it's next lesson but I decided to write this for you guys instead. I still don't know if anyone is reading my book, which is sad, so if you are can you recommend it to your friends. Currently I only have 2 reads on each of the previous chapters, which are both probably me. I know that at least one of them is me so if you are reading this PLEASE PROMOTE IT!!! I'm NOT going to stop writing if my reads don't increase but I might start updating less frequently...
