< 💣 B POV 💣 >
As the morning light rose and filtered through the canopy, I gave a wolfy yawn and woke up. Taking a big cat stretch, I... wait... there was no room for a cat stretch - I was on a ledge on a rock face. I edged my paws towards the edge of the ledge and peered down. I noticed that at the bottom of the chasm there was a stream formed from last nights rain.
I shrunk back from the edge and howled letting people know that I was still stuck in a shitty gorge. my stomach rumbled because it wanted breakfast and I realised that Chris and Lora probably wanted breakfast too. And Glossy. And... oh no! Charlie! no one would feed Charlie while I was stuck and I was finally beginning to gain her trust.
On Friday night, the second time I fed her, Charlie didn't back away from me and yesterday morning she let me place the bowl of food in front of her. I had given her an old travel bed of Glossy's and made a small kennel out of branches, leaves, sticks and rocks.
This morning I had hoped to be able to pat her, and possibly wash and clean her wounds. I knew she needed medical attention but I didn't want to stress her by grabbing her or anything. She needed to trust me and I was willing to do a hell of a lot to make that happen.
Suddenly my phone rang. It was next to the sopping wet pile of my clothes, under a slight overhang, sheltered from the rain. Even though I had slept in wolf form, I still felt really lethargic and knew I would have to change back in order for me to get out of the chasm. I scanned the area before quickly shifting, answering the phone and getting dressed.
"Bella! OhMyGod! I'm so sorry we had to leave you down there all night! The idiots in the pack house don't have any portable climbing ropes and the only other option is to borrow from another pack and rescue you tomorrow and I've been going all ape shit on them cause by tomorrow you're probably going to be dead if you stay down there!" "Encouraging" I deadpanned while slipping my shirt over my head with an unappealing squelch. I internally shuddered.
I decided to look up and what do you know, Lora was looking down at me from the bank. "You perve!!!" I said, laughing. "Do you enjoy watching your friends get dressed?" Lora was laughing her head off and then creepily said "I just enjoy watching your facial expressions for extreme discomfort"
Lora was supposed to be helping me get out of the gorge, but instead she was just laughing at the fact I was in it. "It's not funny!!!" I whined before sitting down and making my clothes emit another massive squelch - which caused us to laugh even louder.
"Lora!" I heard someone scream from her side of the phone. Ash's head 'magically' appeared over the cliff wall as she waved frantically. "BELLA!!!" she screamed at me this time. She stole Lora's phone and began rambling on and on and on about "That mother fucker who doesn't even care enough about you to save you from a life threatening situation for two days" or, as an easier alternative, just a pronoun like "him" or "he".
While Ash continued prattling, I spread myself out onto the rock and attempted to become reptilian and adsorb all the heat. The sun slowly began drying out my clothes and Ash still continued talking.
"... And he is such a dick. ... Hey, Bella? Are you actually listening?" Ash asked. I rolled over slightly, mumbling incoherent words while waking up from my sun induced trance. "What was that?" I muttered. Ash sighed, before our conversation turned to silence.
My phone emitted a vibration. 20% BATTERY REMAINING. Well shit.
"Hey ash," I said into my phone, still on the same call I answered from Lora, "It's been great talking to you and Lora and I swear that was the longest I have ever seen you talk for but you need to do 5 things.
1. Calm the fuck down, I can survive two days down here
2. Try and rescue me ASAP, I prefer life on the fucking surface
3. Get some really shit long string and use it to pass down food and pass up my fucking phone, which is almost out of charge, so you can charge it, etc.
4. Punch Jack's face, in the face, wait, I want to do that one but you can vomit rainbows on him and Amili
5. Give Lora back her phone cause you have used up too much if her data
Well, bye.
BYE LORA THANKS FOR BEING THERE AND SHOUTING AT JACKSON"
After that, Lora, ash and abbey all alternated bringing me supplies which included a blanket, a pillow pet, food, a jumper, my newly charged phone and a book.
So, for the second night in a row, I fell asleep on that stupid ledge, feeling admittedly much more comfortable than the previous night, and dreaming about Jackson (I couldn't help it - I have a wolf) and Charlie (who was probably feeling really hungry).
