Sidharth was fast asleep with his face shoved into her stomach and her fingers threading through his hair locks soothingly. Her gaze was focused at his lovely face which looked Serene while glowing slightly under the yellow light oozing out of the table lamp which was kept beside the bed.

"Was i that incompetent ki tum mujhe pyaar nahi kar payi, pyaar toh chodho assurance bhi nahi deh payi"

His slurred words rang in her ears making a way for the salty water to flow down her face. As, reality begun to hit her hard. All his words, all that he said today makes sense to her. It was her own negligence which doesn't makes sense to her. She has been so engrossed in herself that she couldn't register his pretence. She was so lost in fulfilling her own aspirations that she forget about the source which made her follow that. She failed to assure him that she is there and she will be there for him for a lifetime. The pained look in his eyes was haunting him.

"Mhmm", he stirred in sleep as her figures stopped moving, he nudged her hand wanting her to keep doing it again to which she complied.

The little gesture, the sense of comfort which he has found in her, made her cry all the way more harder. Just how, she wished, that she could have just been a bit more careful and she would have decipher the fake smile at his face. Now, as she reminisce the events of the last few days it made sense to her. He was being indifferent, she has noticed that indifference but she failed to decipher the hurt and pain he was carrying within himself. He was indeed right, he has given her everything and giving it back was a lost cause, she couldn't even keep what he has given her.

She has her own justified reasons. All her past, her ex husband, the trauma through which she has to go through and the pain he inflicted onto her soul made her unacceptable towards this feeling of love but when she did she felt how late it was. The sole reason behind her unacceptance towards the word love was him, her ex - husband. She still remembers the first time when she has met him before marriage, he has claimed to love her and somehow, she has started to like him too. They have met two times before their marriage and she has liked him, a men so manly and powerful falling for her used to make her turn pink. It was then after their marriage when she got to know his true colors which turned her pale and a life time damage at her soul. She still remembers how he used to call him beatings as, "Abusive Love". The soul reason why she couldn't take the concept of this so called word, "Love" because she was scared of being put in the same spot again, for being abused at the name of love. In her life, love has just ruined things in the worst way possible, so her unacceptance regarding it was justified too and she has caged herself in a shell. But, Sidharth broke that shell and made her fall in love with him and now when she's accepting it, it's late not too much but still it's late.

She was right at her place but what about Sidharth, the other person involved. Whatever happened in her life wasn't his fault, he didn't even exist in her life at that time but who payed for the aftermath of her ex husband's deeds? Her present husband, her Sidharth. The more she tries to reminisce the past events the more guilty she feels. She has really made a mistake. She got so engrossed within her ownself that she didn't give a thought to his hurt, his pain, her own negligence towards everything was eating her up.

On a larger view, his allegations and assumptions were surely nonsense. She and Zorawar being in love, no way in hell. He might be right that she failed to assure him through her words but the reason was his ownself too, he has literally warned her to not to even talk to him in front of the people's prying eyes then what was she supposed to do, how was she supposed to be looking after him when he himself has asked her to not to. Moreover, her words might not been able to assure him but what about the kangans which she has adorned under the long sleeves of her dress which has even left her wrist with red blotches and rashes, her long slender neck where that beautiful pendant was hung clinging to her chest as a replacement of her black beaded chain as a sign of being his. Do, he not registered the presence of two ornaments given by him.
