"You ready..?" Boris kissed my forehead and held my hands. "Y/n." I looked over at Mabel and she put a hand under my chin.

She held my cheeks and made me focus on her. "Only points matter, yeah?"

I nodded and she nodded as well, taking a deep breath. "This is the only competition that matters. Please. Focus."

I nodded and closed my eyes. I tried taking deep breaths and shook my arms and legs out.

The last skater ran off the ice crying, knowing she hadn't made the cut. I gulped and Boris cupped my cheeks. He leaned down and pressed a kiss onto my lips.

"Luck." He whispered.

I nodded and took my guards off.

I stepped onto the ice as the announced me and did a presented myself before doing I warmup lap. I skated to the middle of the ice and got into my start position.

As my queue started, I knew I could do this. I always win. I'm good at this.

Everything was going well and now it was time for my triple axel. I'm one of two girls in the entire level that could actually do my triple axel.

It was an easy up and down, I grinned as I started my spiral.

Now I have an easy quad toe loop. One of the easiest jump in the program.

I looked in the crowd and my eyes widened.

"Dad?"

I realized I was late on the jump and rushed it. I got three rotations in and fell, immediately blacking out.

When I woke up, Boris was arguing with a nurse about something. I started gagging and lifted my hands to grab whatever the fuck was down my throat.

The nurse and Boris ran in, Boris grabbing my hand and the most uncomfortable thing in my life being ripped out of my throat.

I coughed and Boris hugged me.

"Dad— My dad." My voice was low and raspy. I could barely talk.

Boris pulled away and held my cheeks.

"Dad?" He asked.

"My dad. Where is he?" I whispered.

"Detka... It has been month since competition."
