I woke up in the middle of the night rubbing tiredly my temples. As the days passed, the worse the headache would become and the sudden informations from yesterday didn't helped at all. I opened slowly my eyes and noticed something odd on the right side of my bed. Between the pages of the book David gave me when we first met, there was a beautiful black rose.
"How did that... Wait, it must had been David. I didn't even noticed that he entered my house."
I took the book into my hands and opened it to the pages the rose was in. I took it into my hands and raised it towards the window. The gentle white light from the moon making the elegant rose shine with gracefulness. I smiled at my self and walked downstairs, picked up a vase from the kitchen, filled it with water and placed the rose inside of it now putting it on my desk.
Now returning my attention back to the book, I saw that the pages the rose was in between wasn't mere coincidence. I took the book once more into my hands and started reading what seemed to be a poem.
~ I am taking my book, I'll give you the rose.
In the name of love, I'm watching you from close.
Open your eyes, see the world as it is and I will protect you from it.
When the day comes, I'll be yours.
I'm only asking you that...be my ONE. ~
I brought my hand over my mouth and stared at the words with widened eyes. My thumb caressing gently the page.
"Was he...the one who wrote this...?" I mumbled as I felt the heat burning my chest from the inside. I grabbed the fabric of my blouse right where the heart is supposed to be and clenched it tightly. My eyes, unconsciously of me, softening, "Ugh! What is wrong with me!" I groaned and fell on my pillows, hiding my face with my left arm. My cheeks were blushing brightly as my heartbeat kept increasing.
For whatever reason, I was quite happy... But that was something I would never admit to myself.

The morning, a knock was heard at my door and opened sightly. My still sleepy image was laying on the bed unable to move just yet.
"Sarah, honey. Will you wake up?"
I heard my mother's voice and hummed as a signal that I was listening, "Hmm..."
"There is a friend of yours waiting downstairs for you. It's that young man, what was his name again... Oh right, it was David, wasn't it?" at her words I became immediately wide awake, "Please get up honey. It would be rude to not greed him properly."
"I'll be ready in a few minutes," I voiced now hurriedly getting up from my comfortable bed. My mother smiled at herself and closed the door.
I quickly went to the bathroom, cleaned my face, brushed my teeth and changed clothes. I took in a deep breath and tried to calm my nerves down.
"It's okay... Act like usual. It's... It's not like we have anything special between us anyways..."
I walked downstairs and saw David sitting on the couch close to the TV with a small smile plastered on his lips. I gulped and walked closer towards him.
"Morning," I greeted blandly but his smile only widened.
"Good morning to you too."
"Would you like some coffee or something?" I offered and he gave me a chuckle.
"My my Sarah, I didn't knew you were such a good hostess," he said sarcastically and I rolled my eyes.
"Nothing it is then," I smirked and David waved his hand in the front in protest.
