"What happened? Where am I?" I thought to myself as I quickly opened my eyes in panic only to close them right after due some irritating white light above my head. I turned my head side ways, brought my hand above my eyes and finally, I was able to see my surroundings, "I'm in a hospital?"
"Ah you are awake! What a relief!" spoke a familiar voice and I turned my gaze towards Dr. James who had just entered the room along with my worried parents.
"Nice seeing you as well doctor." I replied after some seconds now trying to get into a sitting position.
"Dr. James, since she is awake now, could you ask Sarah about the incident and see what the situation is?" my father suggested as the doctor sat on the chair beside my sickbed, with my mother sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Of course. Sarah can you tell me about the incident?" he questioned while taking some simple body tests at the same time.
"Yes but I am afraid that I don't understand much myself about what happened," I answered as I took a tight grip of my sheets. My narrowed eyes looking into the void, as my mind trying to comprehend the situation.
"Don't worry, take your time. Try to explain as much as you can," encouraged the doctor with a reassuring smile and I nodded hesitantly my head.
"Alright. It started with a big headache and my eyes were blurred. Then... Something appeared in my vision. It was as if a memory had suddenly awaken."
"That's wonderful news. It means that your memories started to return," smiled brightly the doctor and I could feel his genuine happiness in his eyes, "I told you, didn't I? It's not possible. I'm more than confident that you'll be able to regain all your memories sooner or later."
At his words, my mother grabbed my hand and squeezed it gently, her eyes holding back the tears, "Oh honey... I'm so glad..."
Then my father walked closer and brought his hand over my mother's shoulder, "What was the memory you saw?" he questioned and my lips formed a thin line while my eyes gazed on my bed sheets. Seeing that, my father gave me a gentle reassuring smile, "Let's discuss this better at home. What's important right now is your health improvement," then he turned his eyes towards the doctor, "Dr. James, I leave her in your care."
"Rest assured. Your daughter is in good hands."
"I know that much doctor,"

"So honey... What did you remembered?"
Once we arrived home, we all sat on the living room and let the comfortable silence surround us. Soon enough, my mother was the first to break the silence.
"So," she started and I turned my eyes towards her direction, "What did you remembered?" her voice was soft and caring but I could see clear as day the worry into her brown chocolate eyes.
I thought about it for a few seconds and finally cleared my throat, "I am not quite sure. I couldn't see clearly my surroundings," I voiced and I could already feel the guild crushing my heart.
I had lied to them. What I had seen was still very fresh and clear in my mind. It's just that something in me, told me to keep it to myself for now.
Both of my parents gave me a sad look but they were quick to change their expression into a hopeful smile.
"That's fine. What matters is that you are slowly regaining your memories," voiced hopefully my father and my mother nodded along his words.
"Your father is right Sarah. We are just happy to know that you're okay."
