Using David's portal, we arrived on top of a clif facing a big gothic castle that was far in the ocean. My eyes widened in awe as I made sure to take in memory all the beautiful scenery before me.
"We are here."
"...And where is the 'here'?" I asked while still being in a daze.
"So beautiful..."
"We are close to the Living Island."
"That's the Living Island?" I said pointing at the castle in the middle of the ocean.
"That's right. We have to enter it and we'll use the portal to get there. I won't teleport us immediately to our destination so you can see the castle from inside as well. Though I won't let you see all the rooms since it's a quite dangerous place."
"Alright," I answered and he gestured for me to take his hand. I noticed that he gave me his hand a lot lately. I wasn't complaining tho. Strangely enough, I felt safe with him holding firmly my hand.
When we arrived at the castle, I had to tell that it was even more glorious from up close.
"It's really beautiful...," I commented and David nodded his head in agreement.
"You used to come here all the time. You had made it your second home."
"That castle? My second home?"
"That's really amazing..." I said looking in a daze once again. A feeling of nostalgia washing over me.
"If that's amazing then how about we go inside?" he suggested and I smiled at myself.
"Sounds good."
"Just stay close to me. There are many monsters inside."
"Wait? Monsters?" I questioned in slight panic and David gave me a playful smirk.
"Yup. Don't be afraid, I will protect you."
In return I gave him a glare, "I'm not afraid."
"Good," he chuckled and we finally made our way inside the castle.
We passed through its giant metallic door and my eyes glimmered in excitement. The castle was greatly spacious with big windows, carpets and chandeliers. Various doors and paintings from left and right. Right in the middle of the room, a giant statue of an angel was standing before us. But somehow, I knew all too well that he wasn't a mere angel... In fact he was...
"This is a statue of a demon named–"
"Arsaix...," I continued for David with a whispering voice and a horrified expression.
"I can't believe I'm standing before a statue of the demon that wanted to take over the human world..."
"So you remember," David's voice brought me out of my train of thoughts and I let out a small sigh.
"I do... He was mentioned in the book you gave me."
"That's right."
"Then...does that mean that he's still alive?" I questioned and a shiver run down my spine as the words left my mouth.
"I'm afraid so. But worry not. He is captured inside another statue in this very castle. A reason as to why you kept coming here, was that you wanted to always make sure that he would stay here," he explained and I held tightly my left arm. My nails almost piercing my skin.
"Was it because I'm the daughter of the Holy Demon, Santophe?"
"That's right. You always felt a need to take care of this place and to keep an eye for Arsaix."
