Ivena
^^^^^"Amina, if I come back and your shoes aren't on, I'm taking your iPad for the weekend." I told her. I had to set some boundaries because Mini was acting out. Again.
I went into the bathroom and closed the door behind me. I stared down at the pregnancy test on the counter.
I was taken back on what it said but it didn't change how I felt.
"Baby, you ready?" Jovan opened the door and I scrambled to hide the pregnancy test. I didn't want anyone to know I even took a pregnancy test in the first place.
"You good?"
"Yeah. I'm ready." I smiled small and he looked at me suspiciously before we walked out the bathroom.
Jovan's dn I wee ina good space and I couldn't even believe this was my life now. I was beyond happy and I wasn't just living to make it. I wasn't just living to put food on the table.
"Mini, I hope your shoes are on." I turned the corner, seeing her shoes on and tied.
"Aight, she being a lil obedient or whatever." Jovan joked. She was occupied with her iPad in hand. I guess that's what I had to threaten for her to listen.
She acted as if she couldn't exist without it.
"Let's go."
Jovan apparently had a surprise for us and I think it's the best ice cream money can buy. Mini and I are both ice cream lovers.
Jovan made sure to blindfold me which made me way more peculiar.
"Jovan, please tell me where we've going." I grew anxious in the first 5 minutes of the drive.
"Relax, babe. It's gonna be about 45 minutes so just relax. Take a nap or somethin'." He put his hand on my thigh.
"Nah, where we going? Don't take me nowhere stupid, Jovan." I got agitated.
"I said relax, Iva. Relax."
It was 30 more minutes until he finally parked and helped me out the car. He told Mini to be quiet as he guided me to wherever we were going.
Mini was giggling uncontrollably until we entered the place he brought me to.
"Mini, tell me what it is." I encouraged. He took off the blindfold and I slowly opened my eyes. I was in the foyer of a house.
"Huh?" I said more to myself.
"Mama, look at this house!" Mini ran around the house, doing circles.
"Wait. What?" I continued to look around me, still confused.
"Baby, I bought us a house." He wrapped his arms around me. I was so dumbfounded I didn't even know what to say.
"You. Bought. Us. A. House?" I spoke slowly, still trying to process this.
"You know where I bought it too?" He smirked and I almost fell. This was the exact house I showed him where I wanted to live so I could work a day rela estate agent.
The exact house.
"Baby." My eyes stared to fill in my eyes. He really did his for me. "For me and Mini?"
"And me too, damn." He laughed and I started tearing up.
"What about Vie?" I was still confused.
"I already talked to her. Delia is moving in so they'll split the rent." He explained.
"Bro, you don't understand." I shook my head, tears still flowing to my eyes.
This was a dream I thought would never come true. I'd given up on it years ago.
I finally calmed down and stopped crying to look around the house. I already knew it had 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The kitchen was big and had a island in the middle of it.
"Yeah, this is definitely enough space..." I accidentally spoke out loud.
"What do you mean?" Jovan knitted his eyebrows on confusion.
"I guess I have a little surprise myself." I said to myself.
"Enough space for what? For us to fuck because we have the whole house-"
"Jovan, shut up." I laughed.
"Then, what is it, baby?" He wrapped his arms around me again as he towered over me.
"I'm pregnant." I'm mumbled so mumbly that he couldn't hear me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't catch that." He lifted my chin.
"Babe, I'm pregnant." I smiled nervously.
"It's mine?"
His first words after me telling him there was a fetus growing in me was that.
"Nigga, yes. Who else?" I was offended.
"Calm down, baby. I was just playing."
"Yeah..."
"You for real? You carrying my baby?" He looked into my eyes and I couldn't help but to smile.
"Yes, Jovan."
He picked me up and swung me around. I laughed as he kissed me all over my face.
"Hey, Jovan Jr." He bent down to kiss my stomach. There was no bump but obviously a baby.
"Sorry to break it to you but if we have a boy, it will definetly not be named after you."
"Aw, why not?" He frowned.
"Maybe the middle name. Malik Jovan Taylor." I said and he shook his head.
"Ain't no way you naming our baby Malik."
"If it's a girl her name will be Mary Ann." I continued to joke.
"Hell no." He shook his head.
We just stared at each other for a while. I couldn't wait to see the baby we made together. I was longing to see our creation together.
"I love you. I love you so much, Jovan." I told him genuinely.
"I love you too, Ivena." He stared deeply into my eyes and for once it didn't make me cringe.
"Stop being all mushy. Jovan, come help me see which room is the best one to be mine." Mini walked into the kitchen.
"Aight, little one." He smiled.
This was my life now. In a new home. A baby on the way and with the love of my life. I never knew how damn happy I could be if I just allowed myself.
You don't know how much you could have until you actually let it happen.
The end. 💕
