"Sure, Caroline, get married. The day you've dreamed of your whole life, just throw it together like some shotgun Vegas wedding to lure out and murder your nemesis, all before the vows are over." Caroline groaned as she stumbled into the kitchen with wedding planner stuff next to Bonnie as she drank champagne.

I could see why weddings were important, especially to Caroline.

I finished getting cottage cheese out from the fridge and watched them talk. They knew I was here because Damon demanded I helped then plan the wedding, but that just meant that I had to be with them, not that I actually had to help.

"Yeah, it's happening fast." Bonnie said dully.

"I never got to explain to you why I said yes to Stefan." Caroline stated.

"I know why you said yes. You want to spend your life with him, in spite of everything." She said, sulking. Here comes the pity party. "I get it, but I can't watch you marry him. Can't watch him be happy. And it's really hard for me to say that I won't be there with you. Because you know I would do anything for you. I can't do that to myself. I won't."

"I understand." Caroline said. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry in ways that I didn't even know existed. I know that I am one step removed from the reason that you lost Enzo." Caroline then wrapped her arms around Bonnie. "So I am extremely grateful that you're even sitting here being my friend right now."

I couldn't help but smile at how easily manipulated Caroline was. I felt bad for the girl, but Bonnie opened up her trap and killed the mouse within seconds. If was very entertaining to watch.

I started to laugh.

They both pulled away from each other and looked back at me to glare.

"Sorry- I'm sorry." I said through my last laugh. "That was just... magnificent to watch." I said, rubbing my eyes with a humourous smile. "Pathetic, sure. But very humorous."

"Would you care to explain?" Caroline asked and I started to think.

"Um... no." I smiled. Then set the bowl in the sink and sat on the other side of the table, across the other two. "Where do we start?"

***

The next day Caroline came into the room I was sitting in, dry cleaning her dress.

"Thank you, Rae." She said, smiling at me.

"Despite what you think, or what you might think, I like you. And I wasn't apart of the whole Armory incident, though I am sorry about that whole situation."

"Its fine." She said, softly smiling at me. "I know you tried to stop him, at least he didn't get them." She said, getting softer with her voice. "I just wish he could fix his act, do we could at least stand him, but with everything hes done- it's hard."

"I know." I muttered. I knew that she is against being bad and embracing the worst parts in yourself, but I personally liked it when he was being mischievous.

"Thank you, again. For this."

"I am more than happy to help you through this day, I understand that you and Stefan have had problems and I've ignored them all but... I know this is hard for you. The marriage is rushed, Bonnie isn't going because of Stefan, and Elena isn't here."

Though I didn't care about those two, I cared about Caroline.

"The least I can do is make sure you get down the isle on time looking the best you can." I smiled.
