Chapter 15

The evaluation started with the instructors seated at a long table. The members are seated on the side with a mirror in front of them. They look at each other in the mirror, they can see themselves shaking their legs or fidgeting their fingers. Everyone is nervous, the tension is in the air. The order of the performance was decided through rolling the dice, the one who gets the highest number will be the first one to perform.

Taehyun rolled the dice and got 7. Kai followed.

"Please, anything less than 7."

Kai got an 8, which means they are the first one to perform.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Everyone laughed, while Soobin fell on his seat.

"Why do you have to be so unlucky kai!" Soobin exclaimed.

"Hyung, I still hope we can tie with Yeonjun-hyung."

Beomgyu rolled the dice and they got 1. Yeonjun stood up and raised his hands in the air. Kai and Soobin are preparing the music and everyone can see that Soobin's hands are shaking. Kai held his hand and told him to relax.

The song "Say you Won't Let Go" starts playing, and the members are amused by how charismatic Kai is. Soobin was doing great, he was having fun. Kai stumbled but Soobin got him. Some of the instructor thought it was part of the performance but they aren't. They smiled about it and then the climax of the song started. Everyone went silent as the music played, their bodies filled with emotions. It is a new side that everyone has seen for today. The performance ended and everyone applauded.

"Wow, Soobin, that was new, I didn't know you can show something like that, there's a lot of emotions in your face. I like it. I know Kai stumbled but it wasn't that obvious, be careful next time." J-hope said.

"I'm sorry, will do, hyung." Soobin said while bowing his head.

"Don't be sorry Soobin, you definitely improved with your singing," Jungkook added.

"Hmmm, kai. I'm so shocked, have you been in a relationship?"

"Uhmm, not really but I have my gum with me. Definitely, he won't let go." Kai said as he put his arms on Soobin's shoulder.

"Yah! You're my gum." The instructors laughed and thanked the pair for a good performance.

"Next, Yeonjun and Taehyun."

As usual, they surpassed themselves again, the pair received applause from the instructors especially the part where Taehyun sang the high notes, Yeonjun doing the ad-libs. Beomgyu was so nervous because the other groups were really good. He noticed that their movement is powerful. Unlike Kai and Soobin, the song Pillowtalk differs in terms of emotions.

"Taehyun." Jungkook said.

"Yes, sir."

"I can't say anything, I can really see you on stage someday, and Yeonjun I like the ad-libs"

"Thank you." Yeonjun and Taehyun said in chorus.

"Yeonjun, Let's see if you manage to make it to both of your performances today. As usual, you guys improved in dancing. I know this is new to both of you. Job well done." J-hope commented

"Okay, next performer please go to the front."

Beomgyu stared at Yeonjun blankly. He told him congratulations and then proceeded to apologize if he ever messed up. He got his bag only to find the flash drive gone.

"Hyung, we have a problem," Beomgyu said while tears were attempting to fall from his eyes.

"Hey, hey, it's okay. We can look for it." Yeonjun assured.

Yeonjun approached the instructors if they could take a 5- minute break because he had to go to the comfort room. Yeonjun kneeled in front of Beomgyu, cupped his face, and told him that he'll be back in a blink.

He came back to the hall, with a flash drive in his hand.

"Where did you get that?"

"You'll never know what happened Gyu, I have a spare one. Now relax."

Beomgyu finally started breathing normally and they went to the center of the room. The song "Earned It" starts playing. Beomgyu's heart was beating so fast as he heard the first note of the song. He deeply exhaled and moved with the music. He stared directly at Yeonjun's eyes and every gaze they had made Beomgyu relaxed.

Yeonjun was worried about Beomgyu, every time they touched he gave his hands a squeezed. The performance was made with no flaw. They performed it the way they practice it, but this time Beomgyu is showing much of his expression. He was so pretty and Yeonjun can feel himself heating up everything they touch. It was really sensual, the music and its beat were making him go crazy over this younger boy. The audience is screaming and surprised during our couple dance as if this is their first time seeing two boys roll their bodies.

Soobin is covering Kai's eyes "you're still a baby, don't watch this."

Taehyun was quiet but a little interested especially with Beomgyu, the instructors are also observing as if they are watching Beomgyu's every move. This is the first time they've seen him perform, everyone was shocked that he made it to the debut team so they want to know what this boy really got.

Beomgyu felt every pair of eyes on him, he ignored it and told himself that he wants to perform in a large crowd someday, he must not be intimidated. Instead, he looked the judges in the eyes and gave out his facial expressions. The performance ended both of them panting.

The instructors didn't speak up at first. Only Beomgyu and Yeonjun's breathing can be heard from the room.

"You remind me of Taehyung, Beomgyu. I know you have a deep voice but how can you pull off that kind of facial expression?"

"Thank you, I practiced a lot in front of the mirror."

Jungkook smiled, "Yeonjun, I didn't know this song would suit you, when I heard that you guys are performing this, I thought what a strange choice because it's not a song that you can showcase the strengths of your vocals, but wow it is good."

"Thank you, Hyung."

"Wow, this pair. The chemistry you got there. Are you sure you've known each other for a month?

"Yes, hahaha well I didn't know that we'd get closer every time we practiced."

Both smiled at each other, they didn't know they'd been staring at each other.

"Ehem, hahaha well Beomgyu, I know you're still learning to dance, but you have strong potential. Your stage presence is really something. I can see you being the center, your dance is clean, keep that up."

"Thank you, everyone, the ranking will be posted later after you've finished the rap evaluation. Congratulations everyone!"
