Chapter 10
(Jenn's POV)
Today, our first activity is zip lining. I am so afraid of heights and Luke is forcing me to do this. I changed into black leggings, gym shoes, high pony tail, and a orange tee shirt. We are walking now, after the terrible breakfast we had, to the zip lining area. So far, we have climbed over twenty sets of stairs. I am so nervous. Judging by the height we are at now, I'm going to cry.
"Luke..how high is this?" I ask holding onto his hand tightly.
"It said in the packet, that is was 500 feet about ground."
I silently cry and begin to turn around. I can't do this. Me and Luke were in the back of the line, so maybe no one will notice me. Hopefully not Luke.
"Jenn! What are you doing?" Luke asks running towards me.
"I am not zip lining 500 feet in the air Luke. I am afraid of heights."
Luke wipes away a tear sliding down my face with his thumb and says, "Jenn, it's okay. I can go with you. We can do this together."
"There can be two people at a time?" I ask.
"Yea."
I hug Luke and place my head on his chest, "thank you."
He takes my hand and we catch up to the rest of the group. They didn't notice we were gone. I looked who was in front of us, Cal and Jade. So cute together. Michael and Misty is my OTP. Michael better make a move before they leave. Ash just walked alone, in front. I kinda felt bad for him, but he has Brooke.
When we get to the area where we go zip lining, I try to put my harness on while we learn how to zip line and safety. Once me and Luke get our harness on, Cal and Jade are in front of us.
"Hey Jenn," Cal says to me.
He pulls me aside from the rest of the group and I don't know why. We walk towards the bench and I sit down.
"What's up?" I ask.
"I just want you to know...Luke is a fragile person. I don't want to see him hurt. He would do anything to get his mind off of Anne. Just, don't go too far with him, until you know for a fact that he has his mind on you."
"Cal...are you telling me that I'm just a toy for him? Who's Anne?"
Calum walks away and over to Jade. He looks at me and gives me the 'don't tell him' look. I shake it off and walk over to Luke. He engulfs me in a hug and watches Calum and Jade get hooked up onto the zip line. I hug back, but I can't stop thinking about what Calum said. Who's Anne?
"Bye guys!" Calum screams as they start zip lining. Seconds after they are out of our sight, we are getting hooked up onto the zip line. I look down from the platform and almost scream. We are so high up that if I fell, I could die.
"Are you ready?" the staff person says.
We both nod as she pushes us off and we start going pretty fast. Luke is right behind me. I begin to look down and admire the view. The height is so scary, but what Calum said to me keeps sticking in my mind.
After two minutes, I near what looks like a cliff. As I pass the cliff, I see a waterfall. It's the most amazing view I have ever seen.
I am knocked out of my thoughts when I suddenly stop. A man grabs my zip line and unhooks me. I walk over to the end and take off my harness. After I am completely done, I walk over to the basketball court where Calum and Jade are.
I decide to sit on a bench and just stare at the sky. Calum walks over to me and sits down.
"I'm serious Jenn."
"What do you mean?" I ask frustrated.
"Hey guys," Luke says interrupted us.
Calum starts talking to Luke and they end up playing basketball with the others. I am just so fed up with Calum. Instead of waiting for everyone else to finish zip lining, I decide to start to walk to our cabin.
As I'm about two minutes away from the Cabin, I hear Luke calling my name. Tears begin to fill my eyes. I want to run, but I don't.
"Jenn! Why did you leave? I was worried."
"You actually care for me?" I say turning to face him.
"What are you talking about, of course I do."
"Luke, give it up. I know I'm just a toy to you. You need someone to help you get over Anne, I get it. But, you took it too far."
"Jenn..I didn't-"
"Save it Luke. You leave in three weeks. That's 21 days. I can just avoid you. I can do this Luke. Please, just leave me alone."
After that, my tears explode. I run into our cabin, Luke chasing after me. I run down the hallway and into my room and lock it. I can leave to go eat and do activities through my window, right?
There is a knock on my door. I slowly open the door and see Michael staring at me. He walks in, shuts the door. I begin to cry and Michael throws me into a hug.
"Luke told me what happened. I'm sorry Jenn. He can be a d*ck sometimes."
"I knew this was too good to be true. He was so nice to me."
We probably sat here for twenty minutes. I was crying in Michael's chest and he was petting my hair. To think Calum was a brother to me, I was wrong. It's Michael. There was a knock on the door that interrupted me and Michael's hugging. Michael looked at me and I didn't move. He got up and opened the door slightly, so whoever it was couldn't see me.
"It's Luke," he whispers to me.
