Chapter 46
(Calum's POV)
So we have one day off today before we play for Chicago. We arrived here last night and it is time for me to find someone special. It has been getting annoying that all the boys have been getting with someone. Luke has Jenn, Michael and Misty, Ashton has been talking things up with this girl named Andrea that he met in Florida.
Since Luke kinda broke the 'no girlfriend rule' when he decided to date Jenn, then I guess we can all break it. They are always with their girlfriends, so there is hardly any guy time, except at the concerts.
I have been sitting on the bench at Millennium Park for who knows how long, just writing some music for the new album. Just as I was writing down lyrics, a ball hits my hand and my pencil moves across my paper, causing a smear.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" a women screams.
"Nah, it's okay. It wasn't that important."
"You write music? So do I!"
"Really? We should write music together sometime," I reply.
"Wait, so I don't even know your name and you want to write music with me?" she asks.
"Well, I am Calum and I am from Australia. I am currently touring the world with One Direction and my band."
"One Direction? My little sister talks about them all the time, how can you possibly know them?"
"I open for them at the concerts with my band, 5 Seconds of Summer."
"That's what everyone wants to do, tour the world with the five hottest guys of the world."
"I better be one of them," I reply.
"You definitely are, but are you in Chicago because you are on tour?"
"Yea, but I own an apartment down the street."
"Cool, I live down Michigan Avenue, I work at a designer store there too."
"Nice, but do you have a name?"
"Sorry, it's Catherine Porter. Well, I'll see you tomorrow night."
"What do you mean?"
"I am going to your concert. My little sister. We won tickets through the radio, front row!!"
"I'll make sure to say hi. Maybe we can hang out after the concert?"
"I don't know, I have to drive my sister home and-"
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it. Who is her favorite member of One Direction?"
"Niall, why?"
"Just asking. Anyways, I should probably get back to my apartment. It was nice meeting you Catherine. Can I have your number, so I can uh text you?"
"Sure, gimme yours."
We exchange our phones. I add the heart face emoji to hers, I know I just met her and it is kinda weird how I was just talking about finding someone, but she is really pretty. Her blonde hair and green eyes. I can't wait to see her again tomorrow during the concert. That would be cool to serenade her. I gather my things and walk down the street towards my apartment.

"Thank you, we are 5 Seconds of Summer," Luke screams.
Jenn was in the audience for the first time and Luke seemed to be happier because of that. I found Catherine with her little sister, she was so cute. She had a Niall shirt on and Catherine just wore something casual.
I look at Catherine and found her eyes on me. I give her a wink and a smile before running off the stage so One Direction could preform. I take out my phone and begin texting Catherine.
*How was it?*
*It could be better*
*Hey! I think I did pretty good*
*Yeah, keep having your band members tell you that ;)*
*Meet us backstage after the concert, the security know who you are*
*Okay, how is my sister getting home?*
*A special surprise.*
*Can I know the surprise?*
*Fine. She is entering a limo to find Niall Horan in the back.*
*You are going to make her life Calum. Thank you so much*
*Any time. Now watch One Direction*
*Fine.*
I smile at my phone and think of how much she has gotten close to me since yesterday. I really want to get to know her before I leave in three days. I know that I don't want to let her go. She could've easily not apologized for the ball hitting my pencil yesterday, she didn't have to talk to me. I just have to think about where I am going to take her tonight.

Waiting for One Direction to finish felt like forever. They got off the stage five minutes ago and Catherine should be coming any minute. She said that there was a huge crowd by the stage, but the security guards noticed her and are trying to bring her backstage.
*Okay, we are in the hallway you told us to go, where do we go now?*
*Go all the way down to the exit and the limo should be there with Niall in it. Just say that part of you guys winning, you get a ride home. As soon as you guys are by the door, let her out, but pretend you forgot something and come over towards me.*
*Got it, where are you?*
*The same hallway you are in, but the second door on the left.*
*Okay, give me a few minutes*
I hear Catherine and her sister walk by the door. I get everyone up from their seats and begin talking about what is going to happen.
"Listen, you guys are going to meet Catherine, I kinda like her, so be on your best behavior. I'm going to take her out someone casual and then probably to my apartment before taking her to her house. I really care about her, so please."
"Woah dude, I'm happy that you got over Jade," Luke says.
We hear a knock at the door and everyone becomes quiet. They all stare at me and tell me to open the door. I walk over towards the door in nervousness. Why am I so nervous? It's just Catherine. I open the door and Catherine is on the other side.
"Hey Catherine? I haven't seen you since three hours ago," I say before pulling her in for a hug.
"Hey Calum."
"Um, so this is everyone, One Direction and my band, 5SOS," I reply, putting my arm around her waste. She doesn't seem to mind, she kinda turned red.
"Hi guys, I'm Catherine."
"This is Luke, Ashton, Michael, Harry, Louis and Liam."
"Hi Catherine," they all say at the same time.
"So, we are going to go somewhere, I'll see ya guys tomorrow at sound check."
We walk out of the backstage area and towards a car. I persuaded our security guard to let me drive, so I don't have to worry about staying out late and having them fall asleep at the wheel.
"You don't understand how grateful I am for what you did for Claire, I heard screaming from the limo when I walked away. I just don't know why you would do that, I barely know you."
"Well, you are welcome and the whole point of that was to take you out and get to know you better."
