Chapter 43

(Jenn's POV)

"This just in, Luke Hemmings-"

I turn the tv off. I have been doing better since everything went to down. I haven't left my room in a week. Since my parents passed two days ago, I haven't eaten or done anything. There were a few paparazzi in front of my house this morning because of it, but I just closed the blinds. My house is completely dark. I unplugged every light in my house and made sure I couldn't see any outdoor objects through a window. If my parents never get to see light anymore, than neither should I. I am not saying I am suicidal or anything, I am just slowly hating myself.

The doorbell rings, but I ignore it. Dozens of times today the doorbell rang. I still won't answer. I am not leaving this room. I check myself out in my mirror and realize what a mess I have become. Prominent bags under my eyes are formed, my hair hasn't been washed in who knows how long and I haven't changed my clothes in a week.

The doorbell rings again. This person won't give up, will they? I decide to walk downstairs for the first time. Everything my parents cherished, I got rid of. I can't look at anything in this house, without thinking about what happened. The cruel drunk man that hit my parent's car deserved to live in pain. I don't want him to have a death penalty, he won't learn anything. I want him to live the rest of his life in pain.

I look through the peep hole to see the last person I would expect to come here. I slightly open the door, letting myself go behind the door to stay away from sunlight.

He walks in and sees me behind the door. His face drops when he sees me. Sympathy enters his eyes and all I can do is just start crying into his arms. Since I found out the news, I haven't cried. I knew that I should prove that I am strong. My parents don't want to see me like this. They want me to continue my life.

"I am so sorry Jenn, about everything."

"So am I."

"I am here for you, just let me know, okay?" Luke replies.

"I am fine, I promise."

"You don't have to come on tour with me the first few shows, if you need some space, you can stay back."

"I'm fine. I don't think my parents want me to grieve the rest of my life away."

"When is the funeral?" I ask.

"Tomorrow, uh Michael said him and the other guys are coming in town to attend this. Immediate family gets to arrive half an hour earlier, I am the only immediate family. Can you please come with me? I can't do this alone."

"Only on one condition," he replies.

"Fine, what is it?"

"You come back with me to Chicago after this. Sell this house and continue on with our lives."

"Deal."

"I love you," he replies.

"Love you too."

We walk further into my house and sit down on the sofa in the middle of the living room.

"So how did you find out about my parents?"

"Well, don't get mad, but I didn't go with Michael and Calum to get you from the airport. I just sat in the living room staring at the window. When I saw the airline you were traveling in fly by the city, I knew you were there. Few minutes later, Michael calls me and says that you went to Australia because your parents were in a serious accident and didn't make it. I sat there, just crying. When they got back, I started running and called the airport and begged them to buy me a ticket. They ended up giving in, though I had to pay a little extra. When I got here, I was going to come here. If you weren't here, I would've went to Ashton's. If you were not there, I would have searched every building in Australia just to find you."

"Why didn't you come see me at the airport?" she asks.

"I thought you were still mad, I didn't want you to just get right back on the plane as soon as you saw my face."

"Yea I was mad, but I could see why you thought what you thought. I was with Harry before, I know how he is. He can be the absolute best, but he takes things serious way too fast. Louis is like a brother. I wouldn't leave even if it was the hottest guy in the world."

"But I am the hottest guy in the world."

"Sure...."

I get up from my spot on the sofa and walk into the kitchen to grab some food to eat. As soon as Luke came into my house, it became brighter and I had an appetite.

"What does that mean?" he asks, running up behind me and picking me up.

"What does what mean?" I lie.

"You don't remember what just happened not even a minute ago? You didn't call me the hottest guy in the world."

"Excuse me, but Theo James is."

"Well when we go back to Chicago and see him live, then I guess I can bring Michael because I am not going to let my girlfriend believe someone is hotter than me."

"Theo James is what?!"

"He is going to Chicago Bulls game and he may or may not be sitting right next to us...."

"Luke Robert Hemmings, you best be taking me to see him. Maybe if I see him up close, he might not be as hot as people say he is."

"Fine."

"Thanks Luke!"

"I swear if he dare touches you, I will break him."

"Please, if anyone was going to be broken by someone, it would be you Luke."

I start walking back into the living area after I grabbed some fruit and Luke just stands in the kitchen thinking about what I just said.

"What does that mean?" he shouts.

"What does what mean?" I lie.
