"Lucas! Athy!" The principal slammed the door and barged into the office.
'Geez... What made her so happy?' I thought to myself.
"Thank you!" Mother hugged both me and Athy.
'What the hell happened?' Athy communicated with me through her expressions.
'As if I know!'
"Finally these people will shut up about being under paid!" Mum cried tears of joy.
'Oh so that's what happened...'
"Umm Aunty....?"
"Yes Athy?"
"Can you release me? It's getting hard to breathe.."
"I'm so sorry!" Mom let both of us go.
"Why did that meeting take so long?" I questioned mum.
"Those ' teachers ' were complaining want they would do if the students didn't vote for them." Mum rolled her eyes.
"Kids you should be hungry now right?" Mum asked us.
'We haven't eaten since morning.... Now's already sunset.... I'm not that hungry but Athy....'
"Yes!" Athy screamed and jumped excited!
"Where do you want to go? My treat!" Mum smiled brightly.
"Hey Athy, wasn't there a new restaurant? Like beside the cafe?" I tried my best to recall.
"I think so.... Lets go there!" Athy decided without asking me or my mum and just started walking of.
"So you two broke up?" Mum asked me.
'H-How did she!?!' I was completely baffled.
"Normally she would be cuddling beside you when you two are waiting for me in my office, On top of that normally she drags you everywhere and also your not flirting with her." Mum listed it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Oh and also rumors!" Mum smiled brightly and started walking after Athy while I chased after her.
"Your.... Right...." I sighed and look the side.
"Look Lucas... " Mum's time turned serious which was rare, she only turned serious during work.
"I don't know what happened...."
"I'm not forcing you to tell me.... "
"But I know you..... "
"And chances are you haven't talked this out with her yet..... "
"Trying to move on without talking about it is going to hurt later Lucas...."
"So take my advice and talk it out with her...."
"We both know that right now she maybe just putting on a brave face...."
"If you don't talk it out...."
"She may never smiled like this again...."
I just stared at mum speechless...
She guessed everything perfectly...
I knew she would break eventually from us not talking about it....
But...
I want to never talk about it if possible....
