"Aunty may I ask when are we having the 'tutor'?" I asked aunty who was sitting at her desk doing paper work.
"Tomorrow."
"That's quick!" My eyes widdened... We literally didn't even get an announcement on it.
"The faster the better." Lucas interjected. Lucas sat opposite aunty and was doing some paperwork and passing it to her when he was done.
"Won't the students get suspicious since there was no announcement?" I asked trying to make sure our plan was fool proof.
"That's true but... We can just say it's an enrichment program that we wanted to give them as a present. Also for the parents if they complain we can say that it's also for their safety should anything happen to them." Aunty answered while still doing paper work.
"And if their being too fussy... We'll just expel them." Lucas added which was expected since Lucas is Lucas.
"Lucas you aren't the principal here so don't say it like you have any power to do that." Aunty said to him not in a stern I'm being serious kinda tone but more playful.
"Come on mum! You know you would do the same." Lucas said.
'I don't think aunty would tho-'
"I can't argue with you on that." Aunty said smiling towards Lucas.
'Nevermind...'
"Athy have you eaten?" Aunty asked me which earned a scoff from Lucas.
"Mum you really think I wouldn't feed her." Lucas said a hint of annoyance and playfulness.
"Shush it! I just wanna make sure my Athy is ok." Aunty said returning the playful tone.
"When did she become yours?" Lucas asked.
"Since you decided to like her." Aunty replied
I just smiled at the mother and son bickering at each other.
'I kinda wish I and her could be like this...' I thought to myself sadly as the two memories I'm left with of my mum played in my head.
"Athy!" Mum quite literally tackled me with a huge hug.
"Welcome home!" Mum said her bear huge was slightly chocking me.
"I'm back Mama.." I said tapping her shoulder giving her the sign to let go.
"Your having a performance next week right?" Mum said my eyes widdened normally she doesn't know anything about my school life unless I tell her.
"Yes..." I replied with a suspicious tone.
" Well I'm coming!" Mum said I felt my eyes widdened and slightly wet.
"R-really?" This time I was the one who hugged her.
"Yes." Mum hugged me back as I felt some tears fall down.
"B-but I thought you were going to be busy." I was happy... Beyond happy!
"Guess what I made time to you!" Mum pulled away from the hug and looked at me.
"Thank you mama! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I jumped up and down happy!
"No problem..." Mum smiled at me...
But...
She never made it...
She never got to see me dance...
She never even saw me in my costume before...
She left...
