20 - Doctor's child

"So tired...." I yawned as I walked down the stairs to the principal's office.

'Well I only drank a mocha and ate some food for energy..... I didn't even sleep yesterday....'

Knock knock

"Aunty it's Athanasia may I come in?" Now that there was a salad poisoning case in her office she makes sure to lock her door.

"Hey Athy!" Aunty beamed at me.

"What's the matter?"

"Um well you see-"

"Did Lucas do something?" Aunty's voice and aura went dark.

'This is the first time I'm seeing her without Lucas! Of course I'd be scared!'

"No. It's about my suggestion."

"Ah I see..... Well let's go into my office I want to continue with my paperwork."

I and aunty walked into her office which was surprisingly neat!

'hm....' I saw a plate of salad on her table.

"Was Lucas here?" I asked knowing that Aunty doesn't like vegetables and would never buy salad.

"Yup he came for like a second just to drop of this salad then left. By the way why isn't he with you?" Aunty sat down on her desk and started looking through papers

"He waited for me to finish class but when I was done, he told me saying he had to settle something so he left first.." I sat down on the couch

'Hopefully not something fishy.....'

"Then he's probably helping with the poisoning case or he had something important to do."

'How did she come to a conclusion!?!'

"He normally doesn't hide matters from me and you so when he labels it as 'something' it's probably important."

'That makes sense..... I guess?'

"Anyway. What's with your proposal?"

"Well the teachers aren't teaching anymore and instead letting the students do whatever they want, so that they themselves can get more money."

Crack. The lead on the mechanical pencil aunty was holding snapped.

"Those bastards...."

'So this is were Lucas gets his unique nicknames from.....'

"So instead of making the students votes only!" I took out a paper from my pocket.

"Why not make it half and half. Half is dependent on results other half is students." I read off my paper like a script.

"But why half and half? Can't we just make it depending on results alone?" Aunty asked either curious as to why or testing me.

"If we make it fully results the poor students may be made to do extra work and this might lead to parent complains."

Clap. Clap.

"Well done Athy! Have you ever thought of going into the business department?" Aunty suddenly shot a question at me which shocked me.

'Well this is embarrassing..... I haven't made up my mind what to do yet.....'

"U-um.... I don't know....." I put my head down.

"Aww! It's fine!" I felt a hand on my head.

'So this is where Lucas learned to pet my head when I'm feeling down....' I could help but smile a little bit.
