39 - Dumpling

  I slowly opened my eyes as I felt the sun suddenly on my face.

  'Who opened the curtain...' I groaned as I sat up my eyes adjusting to the brightness of the room.

  "Oh your awake?" I heard a low voice ask.

  "Yes..." I answered rubbing my eye and releasing a yawn.

  "How many times do I have to tell you to not talk to me in that voice..." I heard Lucas grumble as he turned away.

  "Why?" I said trying my best to not make my voice sound horse from the fact that it's early and I just woke up.

  "Do you really wanna know?" I looked to my side as see Lucas literally inches away from me with a smirk on his face.

  Immediately my curiosity dropped.

  "Nope nevermind!" I said putting a hand towards his face in a stop sign as I looked away, blushing for who knows what reason!

  "Why?" Lucas whined like a child as I looked down and away from him.

  'Don't blush, Don't blush, Don't- What the hell did he do...' I felt something on my hand that sent shivers down my spine.

  'D-Did he!?!' I blushed even harder as I took my hand away from him.

  "What the hell did you do Lucas!" I screamed at him looking away refusing to make any eye contact.

  "What~ I only licked your palm." Lucas said like it was the most casual thing to do.

  'How can he keep a straight tone while saying that!'

  "Ok ok! I get it! I won't torment you anymore for the morning." I heard footsteps as if someone was going away.

  'Ok.... Ok.... I think I've calmed down...' I breathed in and breathed out as I looked the other way.

  "Here." I saw the coffee table beside my bed with food on top of it.

  If it was any other moment and any other girl they would've been super happy that he's so sweet...

  But there was only one thing in my brain...

  'Did he leave me alone this morning?'

  "I woke up early and paid extra for kiel to get it so I didn't leave you alone." Lucas said which really relieved me.

  "Thank you Lucas..." I said softly as I slowly wrapped my arms around his waist.

  I felt his body stiffen at my hug as if he didn't expect it, but he immediately rested after he realized what was going on. His body felt a little hot but I thought that was just effects of me blushing.

  "Your welcome Athy." I heard Lucas say.

  "Now time to dig into the food! After that we'll go to school? " I said as I quickly released him from the hug and I heard him mumble something but my ears were not sharp enough to detect it.

  "By the way Lucas. Did you tell aunty yet?" I asked Lucas who's eyes widdened then face palmed himself mumbling something that sounded like 'Shit!'

  "I forgot I'm sorry." I felt a hand on my head.

  "No it's fine! I asked you because I wanted to be there when you told her!" I said rubbing my head against his hand.

  "Oh by the way! What's the evidence? We kinda got distracted..." Lucas said as he took his hand off my head and awkwardly scratched his neck.

  'By distracted you mean you got jealous.'

  "The CCTV. She should have access to it." I said as I gobbled down my food.

  "Did we really not check that!?!" Lucas screamed as he probably thought to himself what a fool we all were since that should've been the first thing we checked.

  "Yup." I nodded as I ate my food.

  "Do you think that snake Denise knows?" Lucas asked.

  "Maybe...? I'm not sure..." I failed horribly at trying to reassure that everything is alright.

  " But she has to have some part in this right?" Lucas said which made me tilt my head in confusion.

  "Well... If their families sent them to gather info... They would both need to know their targets... So till some very small degree she is guilty." Lucas explained.

  "I guess so..." I nodded my head as I looked up at Lucas.

  "Are you not eating?" I asked Lucas who looked at me and smiled.

  "Would you believe me if I told you, your eating the food that I ordered for myself?" Lucas put a hand on my head as I looked at him wide eyed.

  "I'm so sorry!" I immediately went into apology mode.

  "Hey it's fine." Lucas leaned in as he took the chop sticks from my hand which had my hand bitten noodles and took a bite.

  'Did he just...' it took my a second for everything to register in my head but when it did all I could do was blush.

  "See I got to eat a little bit too. Plus since you ate my food I'll eat yours." Lucas put the chopsticks on my plate went over to the other side of the table and started eating dumplings.

  'E-Eh!?! He bought my favorite food... Well besides candy and chocolate...' I pouted as I looked away embarrassed.

  "You want one?" Lucas said as he held one of them using a spoon since I'm not the cleanest eater and brought it to my mouth saying 'ah'.

  "Thank you..." I said softly as I opened my mouth and ate the dumpling.

  "This reminds me of when you tried cooking." I said as we both chuckled.

  "You have to admit those were the best food you ever ate, since it was made with my love." Lucas said which made me blush a little bit but barely noticeable.

  "It was the best food... But I can't say if it was because of your 'Love'." I said as I rolled my eyes.

  "Any other time I would rebut you but... I'm tired..." Lucas said as I saw him ruffle his bangs which made him look very attractive.

  "Tired? What's wrong?" I immediately got up and rushed to his side.

  "Nothing." I heard Lucas say.

  I put a hand on his forehead and my other one to mine.

  'THIS FOOL!' I glared at him as I silently got up.

  "What's wrong?" Lucas got up as if he didn't know.

  "Stay. Down." I said in a strict tone and I saw him immediately follow orders like some dog.

  "Open your mouth." I said as I stuck a thermometer inside his mouth.

  "38.0 Lucas you have a fever!"
