Sidon got his sleep thankfully. He was rather surprised but happy to see he awoke beside me. He was rather reluctant to leave asking we stay in bed just a little longer. He did leave soon after though, promising he'd see me later.
I didn't learn any zora techniques from the soldiers training today, I ended up teaching them more. It's good though, I still have plenty I need to document for Riju and I want to be an even better teacher for her. I know she has her people to protect her, but I know she wants to be able to stand for herself and them.
I'm also scared. I want to know that even if I'm not around, she can fend for herself. The Calamity was able to take control of all the guardians and even the Divine Beasts. What if when I face it, it attacks everyone like before, send everything into ruin. I know Teba and Kass can protect their families, Yunobo has his shield and other warriors, Sidon and his army can protect their home even go into hiding if needed but Riju can't yet. Even if she doesn't master my techniques, I want to at least know she knows them and can at least put them to use.
Though Sidon understands my point of view he says I need to stand up for myself more, at the very least make it so that I taught them part of the day and the other part they taught me. He says he's worried about someone taking advantage of me one of these days. I think I can say 'no' if I really need too, but these things are not them. It just means I can stay longer, even with as guilty as I feel about it...
We had a bath after dinner. I always love how fresh I feel after, especially when I get that good smelling plants! Sidon says the soaps they make should help clean my skin and keep me healthy. He even brought these rough bar things, they had like nut shells and things, make getting dirt and grime off and out of me easier.
Sidon really likes my hair, it's so soft when cleaned and there's not much like it around the domain. He also thinks it's really pretty, like the first rays for morning sunlight. He also likes how I hum when he runs his fingers through it and how I always lean into those touches. I never noticed any of that, he seems rather happy by it. Whenever my hair gets too long I keep it tied back for a while till I feel like cutting it. If it doesn't get in the way of battle maybe I'll let it grow out. Or maybe I could start that after beating the Calamity. I shouldn't have any more fighting to do after that so I don't think it would get in the way of much.
Bossa Nova came back to my room later than he had been lately. He just hopped onto the end of the bed before falling asleep. There was a folded piece of paper under his collar, that was how I got the note.
Once there Sidon led me to a Lizalfos camp. We fought monsters for most of the night, even tracking them, following their footprints, weapon marks left in trees and other such things to find them. I don't track monsters often so I was able to pick up a few things and teach Sidon some stuff I learned from Calisa about this. We didn't talk much, not wanting the monsters to spot us first and attack us from behind.
This was a very different night, felt mysterious in a way. He was serious and fierce in a way I haven't seen before. His features seemed sharp in a way. His focus was on the hunt, on protecting what he loves. He watched me a lot, kind of similar to the look he had when tracking but with me, he was more so studying. Trying to memorize me. How I fight. He usually isn't around when I'm teaching so I guess he could be trying to learn. Sidon mostly uses spears and tridents and the sword that's always on his hip, but he also had a long sword and bow. He always uses two weapons, it's different from anything I've seen before. How he fights reminds me of a dance. It's not as spinny or as fast paced as the Gerudo but he never stops, and every action just flows so naturally into the other. It started rained during our hunt and I swear he was manipulating the water somehow it seemed to move with and around him, it was breath taking. He doesn't use a shield and I can see why, I think it would simply get in the way of how he fights. It's unlike anything, not even how other zoras fight, it's just completely his own. It
He's beautiful.
Maybe this is another reason he likes my makings a new fighting style. He made one that caters to his strengths, and I guess I'm doing the same though I'm kind of borrowing from everyone, though I will be switching weapons a lot very quickly, focusing more on speed than him, Teba did say I'm incredibly quick in training, it just comes naturally so I SHOULD use that to my advantage. I'm going to need all the advantages I can get when facing the thing.
He did fight with the zora style most of the time which was a little disappointing. There's nothing like his form, but by watching him I was able to learn a little of the zora way. Their spear work is similar to fishing, throwing it, then quickly reeling it back in to finish it off. He didn't directly teach me, more so leading by example. I guess he couldn't stand my not learning the zora way when I wanted too today.
When there was about a quarter of the night left, we headed back. Sidon's already gotten stronger than before, we were able to fend off a Hinox and Lynel together. He works so hard to be better, I want to do that too. He thanked me for joining him. I thanked him for teaching me. He asked me if it was that obvious. I know enough of the zora style to tell that at least how I've seen Sidon fight at almost any other time is extremely different, it was not his style and I can see no other reason as to why he would use it.
We had to sneak back into town. We were going to split up so we could get back to our separate rooms, unlike he I could be spotted without trouble and just stroll back in so I was going to do that but... the clouds were starting to clear so I got Sidon to come to shatter back point with me to watch the sunrise. I also made a sneaky elixir for him so he could get back to his room easier! Maybe our joking and giggling got a little too loud as he were making our way down the mountain cause we were caught. It... was really embarrassing, Gaddison kept teasing us for going out on a secret date and Bazz elbowed him, asking him what he was talking about, they didn't see anything, but if they did see Prince Sidon with his lover sneaking out to have a date before work obviously they'd promise to keep it secret but they saw nothing and suggested they continue on their guard route. Sidon was just so flustered he had no words. He asked me if he could hug me. He lifted me off the ground, burrowed his face into my shoulder. He is thankful his people would help him and even approve of us being together but he now felt like he was doing something naughty or embarrassing. When I asked him if we could go for a date tonight, he begged me to not tease him in the moment with this.
I think I can now see why he likes making me blush and flustered, it's just so cute.
He then gave me a kiss, and just looked at me for a moment before his lips were pulled into that familiar bright smile and said "There! Now we're even." And he carried me all the way back to my room.
IT'S NOT FAIR! HE DOES THAT TO ME ALL THE TIME! I WANT THE LAST LAUGH FOR ONCE!
