She had no idea why or how but after their "talk", the mood had clearly improved and they spent more than four hours in the restaurant chatting and laughing. Telling each other why both of them had been so snappy for the past few months had helped immensely to understand why each of them had reacted the way they had done.

It was 12:30 am when Lindsey yawned for the very first time. He was an early bird, the exact opposite of Stevie who could easily stay up the whole night and sleep all day long.

"Oooh, see who's getting tired!", she teased laughingly.

"Well, my sleep routine is not yet completely messed up like yours!"

"My sleep routine fits my job very well! People come to our shows at night, to me it feels like afternoon then, so I'm pretty awake and energetic at that time of the day. You should try it!", she winked at him.

"I know, I know... You've told me that at least a thousand times already.", he laughed.

"And still you don't change a thing!", she smiled.

"I would but I can't! If I slept all day long when I'm at home, Kristen would kill me! And the kids would definitely freak out!"

"Yeah.. You're right. I forgot about that.."

"That's one of the things I also envy about you. You can sleep when and where the fuck you want!", he tried to cheer her up, as he saw the sadness welling up in her eyes again.

"True.", she smiled weakly back at him.

"Okay, come on, let's go, Stevie!", he jumped up enthusiastically and grabbed her hand.

"What?! Where are we going?", she laughed at his sudden excitement.

"Places.", he mumbled, paid the bill and pulled her after him out of the restaurant.

They walked a while down the dark streets through the city. It was a beautiful night. The air was fresh, no clouds overcasted the sky and the moon and the stars covered the street in a magical, silver colored light.

"Will you tell me now, where we're going?", she asked after a while again.

"Just.. Going for a walk, you know? It's a beautiful night."

"True.."

He looked at her as she walked next to him, wrapped in a black trench coat, and felt the sudden urge to grab her hand. And so he did. She felt his fingers slipping between hers and she looked up at him, a smile appearing on her face. That's what he had wanted to see.

They went further over the Pennybacker Bridge which gave them an amazing view over the black lake that was sparkling in the moonlight underneath them. It was absolutely romantic.

"Wow!", she said breathless, stopped walking, and took a moment to soak in the beautiful szene in front of them.

"Beautiful, isn't it?", he asked.

"Breathtaking."

They spent some time standing at the balustrade, looking out at the lake, as she suddenly felt him wrapping his arms around her from behind, his head lying down on her shoulder. She closed her eyes for a moment, felt his cheek touching hers, totally caught in his embrace.

"I think we should go back to the hotel."

"I think you're right..", he mumbled and placed a kiss on her cheek.

She knew if she didn't stop it right now, they would most likely kiss again. And she was right.

When she turned around in his arms to step away from him, their eyes met. She was still in his arms as she saw the old melancholic glance in his blue eyes.
