Niko's POV
"What do you mean by that thing is Kai?" Blake asked. I leaned against the wall and started to explain. "Blake, have you ever heard of a Dusk?" She looked at me like i had asked a stupid question.
"No Grimm creature that I've studied has been associated with the work Dusk." Weiss said. I sighed and said. "Thats because a Dusk is a cross between a human and a Grimm. You've heard of the myth of Fragmented Soul, right?" The only one who seemed to know what i was talking about was Ruby, i sighed and said. "The myth is about a woman with a pure soul falling in love with a man whos soul was so dark that it was almost nonexistent. When their child was born, it was born with a fragmented soul and was more powerful than the humans around them. The human treated the child like a monster and exiled them from the kingdom. Its said that the three founded a separate kingdom to the original four and allowed the exiled to live within the kingdom and named it The Kingdom of Exile. Even though this is considered a myth, I know its true." Ruby asked. "How do you know?" I answered. "Thats because im a Dusk."
Yang burst out in laughter, doubling over because of it. "Thats pretty funny Niko, everyone knows that the Exiled kingdom doesn't exist and if it did why wouldn't we know about it?" Blake said. "Thats a good point, why dont we know where it is?" I looked at the partners, slightly annoyed. "Who says you don't know where it is." I walked over to the wall and looked at the map and pointed at the world map, towards a island to the south of Vale. "Thats it there." Weiss looked at me skeptically. "All thats over there is mountains.." I interrupted her. "I never said it was a kingdom above ground." Yang interrupted me and said. "Not only do you want us to believe that that monster is our friend, but you want us to believe that your from a kingdom that doesnt exist. Prove that your not telling us a lie." She challenged me and I tapped into my own powers and forced the snakelike tentrails to appear again. Weiss was the only one not taken aback by them; the mouth gnashed at the air and I made them dissappear once again. "You believe me now?" I asked. Yang poked her head from behind a bookshelf. "Ok I believe you now." she said. "Good. Now we have to figure out a way to keep Kai from trashing the school and keep the teachers from killing him." Nora spoke up and said. "I have the syringes that our parents gave me just in case this happened. The only problem is that they are in my weapon locker." I began to pace across the room and then I had an idea. "Im gonna get the shots, you guys stay here until I get back." Ruby asked. "Wait what if Kai sees you?" I answered back. "He won't. Trust me." I moved a chair to the center of the room and jumped up; grabbing the vent cover and tore it off. "Good luck." Nora said as I climbed into the vents. "Dont worry, i know what I'm doing." I said before fully entering the air vents. The vents were a lot bigger tha i expected; i was able to crawl on my hands and knees and move around easily.
I crawled through the vents for about ten minutes before I came across the first vent that led into the hallway. I removed the vent cover and dropped down into the hallway, the halls were completely deserted. Fortunately, that means the Kai wouldn't hurt anyone without tearing open the dorms; unfortunately, that means I'm the only one out here to be hurt by him. I quickly made me way to the lockers and called Nora on my scroll. "Nora, which locker is yours?" I asked. For a few moments, there was only silence. "Nora, you do remember which locker it is right?" Nora remained silent, but lucky for me Ren spoke up."Its the locker against the wall. Fourth row, left side." I sighed. "Thanks Ren, your a real life saver." I ran over to the locker and simply pried the door open. I looked around the locker and found a small black rectangular case; when I opened the case, four syringes filled with a glowing amber liquid lit up the darkness. I quickly closed the case and slung the strap over my shoulder; "Nora I got them." I said into the scroll. There was nothing, but dead silence coming from the otherside. "Are you there Nora? Ren? Anyone?" The call cut off and left me in a panic. I rushed back over to the vent and climbed back in, hoping that the call signal had just cut out and nothing bad happened to the others. I crawlled through the vents and was about to drop back into the main office, when part of the vent collapsed and I fell into the office. I fell onto a bed and realized that I might have miscalculated the distance if the office. Now instead of my friends looking at me, it was three people I thought I'd never see in Beacon. Staring down at me was Cinder Fall, Mercury, and Emerald; the three people I now work for. "Sorry for dropping in unannounced, but I'll be on my way now." I tried to leave, but Cinder grabbed the back of my shirt collar. "Hello there Pierce, what brings you here?" Emerald asked. I didn't answer, just like I had done when we first met. "Come on Pierce, whats the silent treatment for?" I looked at the three of them and asked. "Why are you here?" Cinder gave a smug smile. "Its all part of the plan." I pulled myself from Cinder's grip and reached for the doorknob, hoping that I could just get out of here. "We have an assignment for you. Meet at the warehouse tomorrow to hear the plan." I clenched me fist and took a shallow breath. "Fine. I'll be there." I opened the door and left the dorm. Once the door clicked behind me, I took off running towards the office; trying to distance themselves from Cinder and the others. I ran up to the office door and was about to knock on it when it swung open on its own. I pulled Jackal from my waistband and slowly entered the room. There were huge slash marks on most of the walls and furniture was completely destroyed. "Nora, you in here?" I called out quietly. Receiving no answer, I decided to investigate further. The whole room was ransacked and most of the furniture was completely destroyed; only furniture left somewhat intact was a pile of smashed bookshelves. I continued to search the room, hoping for any sign of my friends. I was caught up in my search that i only barely heard the click of a pistol, but I knew the sound all to well. I whipped around and shoved Jackal's barrel under the chin of the gunman, only to see that it was Ren. "Fucking hell Ren, I nearly shot you." He lowered his twin pistols when he realized that it was me who he was aiming at. "Sorry about that Niko. Kai knocked the barricade and we scattered. I thought you were him for a second." I gave him the syringe case and asked him. "Do you know where the others are?" Ren thought for a moment then said. "Ruby and Weiss are in the JNPR dorm, Nora and I were searching for Yang and Blake, and your here. "So Yang and Blake are still unaccounted for then." Nora came through the door and said. "Come on guys, Kai can show up any minute now." The three of us headed towards their dorm and met up with Ruby and Weiss to discuss the plan. We tried to decide what to do and that's when the argument began. "We can go out there, let's just let the teachers deal with him." Weiss said. Nora was out raged. "Thats my brother your talking about and if we don't try to stop him, the teachers will kill him." The argument became worse and worse, but then I began to hear a strange thumping in the vents. I quickly told the two arguing girls to stop talking so I can hear. When they refused to cooperate, I covered their mouths and told them. "Quiet both of you. Listen." Once the two of them stopped yelling, they heard the noise too. "Shit, Kai's coming."
