Chapter 9: First Mission

Kai's POV

I was in a deep slumber until my scroll began beeping. I did my best to ignore it, it almost would have worked if not for Niko waking me up. The way he did wake me up wasn't the nicest, Niko simply grabbed the front of my shirt and slapped me across the face three times. After the first time I was fully awake and the other two slaps were unneeded and painful. "Ow! Niko what was that for?" He looked at me with a innocent look on his face. "Your scroll was going off and you weren't getting up." I stood up and told him. "Next time, just push me out of bed, ok." Niko nodded. I noticed Niko was already dressed and he appeared to have been awake for a while. He wasn't wearing his dress clothes unlike yesterday, he wore a plain white long sleeve shirt, a pair of faded blue jeans ,and he was barefoot, but he was still wearing his gloves. "Niko, how long have you been up? It's only 7:00." I asked, looking at the clock. Niko walked to his bed pulling a laptop from underneath and set it on top. "I didn't sleep last night. Did I forget to mention that I'm an insomniac?" Niko said, clearly ashamed. I simply said. "No problem man. You just forgot, that's all." I checked my scroll and saw that Ozpin sent a message, telling all four of us to meet him in his office. Niko went to wake Ellie and Tess, while I got dressed. I decided to wear a pair of blue jeans and a black t-shirt. Niko came back with the girls following, they were dressed in causal clothes already. We all made our way to Ozpin's office, wondering why he wanted to see us.

We entered Ozpin's office and saw another team waiting as well, team Rwby if I remember correctly. We sat down next to them and asked Ozpin why he wanted to speak to us. "I have a mission for you all. A communication tower in a remote base to the far north has stopped broadcasting. We need you eight to see why." He said. Only one who wasn't surprised by this was Niko, who seemed to be happy. "You have 24 hours to prepare. Good luck." Ozpin said. As all of us left Ozpin's office, Ruby said. "Why don't we all hangout, to get to know each other?" I thought for a moment and said. "Sure. Why not." Niko shrugged. The team followed Ruby and her team to their dorm, while Yang was talking to Niko.

Third Person POV

"So what's your name?" She asked. Niko answered. "Niko...Niko Spire." She smiled. "Niko. What a nice name. My name is Yang." Niko smiled a little. "Well it's nice to meet you Yang." She said. "Well it's a shame we didn't end up on the same team, we could had some....fun." Her voice was slightly seductive. Niko stuttered. "Um, th-thanks for the offer, but I'm interested in someone else." This sparked Yang's interest. "So who is it?" She asked. "Let me guess it's Blake, isn't it." Niko shook his head no. "Nora."

"No"

"Phyrra?"

"No."

"Ruby?"

"No."

"Velvet?"

"No."

"Then who?"

Yang saw that Niko looked over her shoulder. Yang followed his gaze and saw he was looking at Weiss. "You've got a crush on the heiress. Don't you." Niko said. "If you say a word about this to her, I will kill you." Yang and Niko both laughed at this hilarious threat. Then Niko sighed and said. "But seriously if you tell her I'll rip you fucking heart out." Niko said this in the most calm voice, it creeped Yang out. "Oh your serious." Niko nodded. Yang said." Not a word."
