Island to the west of Vale

Merrick, Skylar, and I were on the deck of the ship, reviewing the plan once more. Skylar said. "Alright, we're heading to a small village to the north of the landing site. We go in, kill the man that we're hired to kill, and leave. Simple, but if anyone try's anything, kill them. We all agreed, killing wasn't a problem for us. The boat driver heard us and said. "Wait your here to kill someone? You better pay me extra for getting involved." I smirked, it's funny that he thinks that we'll let him live when we reach the island. "Alright, then you get double of what we promised." I said. I had a duffel bag full of the captain's payment strapped to my back of my armor. Merrick, Skylar and I all wore Spire Mercenary combat armor. (The armor looks like Isaac Clark's armor from Dead Space 3.) The only difference was that Skylar wore mark one, Merrick wore mark five, and I wore mark nine armor. Each armor set had a different augmentation specialized for the wearer. My augment is active camouflage that renders me invisible, but if I move I am transparent. Merrick's augmentation is that he can superheat any metal simply by touching it. Skylar's augment is a personal emancipation grid, a shield like grid that will dissolve any and all non living materials when they come into contact with the grid. The boat pulled up to a small dock and the three of us hopped off the boat; captain said. "Were is my payment?" I said. "Here it is." I threw him the duffel bag and he sped away from the dock. Once the boat was a good twenty yards away, the captain opened the bag. An explosion shook the ground as the boat and captain was turned into a fireball. "How much explosives did you put in that bag?" Skylar asked. "One ton of incendiary explosives." Skylar smirked. "Good job little bro. You remembered the lesson. Go big or go home. Anyway let's get going before someone shows up." We all pressed a button on the armor collar, raising a faceplate and back of the helmet. With the helmets on, we look almost identical except for the three lines of lights; I had white lights on my visor, Merrick had red, and Skylar had blue.

We ran to the village that the target resided in, hiding in the tree line. "Ready up." Skylar said. He drew his twin revolvers, Apocalypse and Doomsday. Merrick put together his weapon that he had named Riot Breaker, a full auto shotgun with a chainsaw front attachment. I pulled out Jackel and Cerberus and we walked out of the tree line. No one noticed some heavily armored soldiers walking into the village square until I shot Jackel. The gunshot was loud enough to get everyone attention within the village and it did just that. Some of the young men grabbed their weapons and attacked us. Skylar and Merrick simply shot two of the attackers, I went for a more brutal approach. My attacker charged at me with a short sword; I dashed passed him and he stopped where he was. His shirt became bloodstained and he collapsed; I stood a few steps away from him holding his heart in my hand, still pulsing. I crush the still beating heart, splattering my armor with blood. A woman in a white cloak, carrying a scythe stepped towards us. "Leave now or I will be forced to attack you." I laughed. "Didn't you see what I did to this poor bastard? What are you stupid or something?" She didn't say another word. Her attacks were fast, but I dodged even faster. "You two go find our target. I'll keep her busy." Her attacks were only kicking up dust, obscuring both of our vision. I heard a gunshot and turned my head in that direction; my opponent took advantage of the distraction and swung her scythe. The metal cut through my armor and got stuck deep in my side. I fell over and my attacker tried to free her blade. I saw that she had a wrist strap on the scythe so she couldn't drop it and I was going to use it to my advantage. Breaking the blade, I stood and pulled the white cloaked woman forward until we were face to face. She froze on the spot as I held Cerberus to her abdomen. I pulled the trigger and three hollow point bullets blew her guts across the ground. Yet she was still clinging to life. I knelt down and lowered my face mask, so she knew who had killed her. I drew a pin knife from my boot and turned her head to the side. I stabbed a spot right where the spine meets the skull, severing the vertebra and killing her instantly.

While Skylar signaled our airship with a flare, I still looked at the dead woman. The wound I caused stained her cloak red and the color was fading from her eyes. There was just enough color to see that they were silver.
