Niko's POV

The eight of us entered the dorm and sat in the living room. "So what should we do?" Ruby asked. I said. "Why don't we all tell a bit about ourselves and one secret each." The group agreed, but some were reluctant. Ruby decided to start. "My name is Ruby and am paranoid about failing my team. I'm two years younger than everyone else, childish, and loyal." Next was Weiss. "I'm sure you all know my name by now. I feel as I should be team leader, but I guess Ozpin chose, who he chose and I can't change that. And my secret is that I have a crush on someone in the school." This interested me, I do have a crush on her, but not just for her body. Her personality was opposite to mine and she's the only girl that has been perfect, but for me that's not saying much, seeing as I'm a freak of nature. The next person up was me. I said. "Hi my name is Niko, and my past is something I'd like to forget. How about you ask questions instead?" Ruby said. "Ok. So what's your semblance?" I told her. "It's called Mimic." Everyone looked at me with curiosity. "What's it do?" Kai asked. I smirked. "I'll show you." I held my hand in front of me and focused. A glyph appeared in front of me, the same semblance as Weiss. Then I dashed across the room at extreme speeds leaving a trail of rose petals. The only one who wasn't amazed was Blake, she's seen me do it before. "So let me get this straight, you can copy anyone's semblance?" Weiss asked. I told her. "Only people who's semblance and face I've seen."

We sat and shared for a while and finally finished. We all decided to eat some lunch. We all got changed and met back at the main hallway.I decided to talk to Kai about what was said. "So any idea who Weiss has a crush on?" I asked. "No. Hey Niko, you have your gun's safety on right?" I told him. "Yeah of course." Kai sighed in relief. "Good. Cause your gun is pointing right at me." I looked at my holster strapped to my chest, at the angle the gun was pointing if it were to go off the bullet would hit Kai in the chest. I unholstered Jackal and aimed at Kai's hand. "Want me to pull the trigger to prove it?" I asked. Kai said. "No I was making sure you safety was on." I pulled the trigger and all that happened was the trigger made a loud click. "See. Perfectly safe. "Now this is my gun without the safety." I pulled the trigger again, this time a metal dart the size of a pin needle flew from the barrel. "What the hell! You shot me." Kai shouted at me. I said. "Calm down. It was a sedation dart, all it does is put you to sleep. A few moments passed and Kai was still standing. I pulled the dart out of Kai's hand and saw something that genuinely scared me. On the tip of the dart was a drop of blood. Black blood. The only two kinds creatures have this blood. Grimm and.....a Dusk. I didn't know what to think. Technically I could be considered a beta dusk, a lower level of dusk. All beta dusk are unnaturally formed through either being killed by a dusk or being bitten by a dusk during an eclipse. Kai on the other hand wasn't a beta, if he was he'd know about it and he'd show some symptoms. The only way to be a dusk is if your bitten by an alpha dusk or if you have Grimm blood running through you. "Kai. Are you familiar with the creature known as Dusk?" I asked. He thought for a moment. "No I don't think so, why?" I took a deep breath and said. "A dusk is a human with the blood of Grimm flowing through them. The reason I asked was that I am one and I think you are too." He just stared at me for about a minute, then he said. "Prove it." I showed Kai the dart tip, the drop of black blood still on the tip. He looked at me skeptically. I pulled out a pocket knife and flicked it open. I pulled my glove off and pressed the blade against my palm, I dragged the blade across it. Black blood pored from the wound. Kai was shocked from the sight of my blood. I cleaned off my blade and told Kai to. "Show me your palm." He did as I said and held out his hand. I grabbed his wrist and pressed the tip of my knife into his open palm, only enough to draw a single drop of blood. I lifted the blade slowly, the drop clinging to the blade. Kai knew he couldn't deny what he was looking right at. The blood drop was the same color as mine. Being born a dusk is extremely rare and normally it would mark the person as an outcast, but Kai didn't know about it. We decided to let the situation settle itself and we went to meet the others at diner.
