Niko's POV
12:35 am
I went for a walk in the woods, in hope I could clear my head. With the mission coming up in the next few hours I'll need a clear mind. Pierce spoke up, "You do know we're being followed, right?" I did know that we were being followed and by who. "Skylar. Stop hiding, I know your there. " I said. From the shadows, a boy the same hight as me stepped out. He wore a black shirt, grey jeans, boots, and a dark blue trench coat. He pushed his black hair out of in front of his left eye. He stepped forwards and said. "Well if it isn't little Nikki." I clenched my fist. "You know I hate being called that." Sky chuckled. "I know you do. The boss wants to know when your coming back." I stepped forwards, standing my ground. "I told her that I wasn't coming back." As I said that, I reached to the back of my neck, breaking the skin and tore out a micro chip, the same one that allowed me to heal extremely quickly and kept my grim blood intact. Without it my blood would turn red like before and I'd heal slower than before
,but I didn't care. I was tired of being connected to my old boss. I walked to Sky and handed the chip to him and turned to walk away. Sky smirked and said. "You making a big mistake Niko." I didn't turn around when I said. "I don't care." I asked. "How's Sheerwind doing?" Sheerwind was another one of the mercenaries, the one I cared about the most. She was a rabbit faunas who had yellow eyes and two bright purple lines tattooed under them. She normally wore a black top that exposed her midriff, a dark purple hoodie, black leggings, and boots. Her first name was Katelin and for a while, she was the only one I truly cared about. Sky said. "She's still waiting for her big bother to come back home." This made me feel a little guilty. I was raised along with them sense I was ten. Before that.... I have a difficult time trying remember my life before. All I remember is me ending up in a burnt out building not knowing how or why. That's when she found me. I was hiding in that burned out apartment complex.
*Flashback*
Eight years ago
I was shivering, curled up in fettle position. I was all alone, no one knew I was here or even knew I was alive. People treated me like a freak of nature, all because I was faunus. My family was killed in front of me for the same reason. My eyes teared up, but I didn't allow myself to cry. I heard footsteps and my body tensed up. That's when I saw her. She wore a simple pants, a white shirt, and a lab coat. Her hair was a dirty blond color and her eyes were a crystal blue, a pair of wire framed glasses rested a bit lower than they were meant to. She slowly walked towards me and kneeled down. I was confused, normally people would hit me by now or call a freak or a monster. I looked up at the woman, she seemed to be truly concerned about me. She said to me in a soothing voice. "You seem lonely. Come with me." I slowly stood up and she walked me out of the building. We walked up to a car, we both climbed in the back seats. An older man with grey hair was the driver. "Where to Ms. Spire?" He asked in a respectful tone. "Back home, Walter. We have another recruit."
*Flashback over*
That's how all started. My brothers and sisters were all recruits, but I'm the only one who used a new name. Nikolai Versetti was who I was before, a pushover how was treated like a second class citizen for being different. Now I am Niko Spire, a biologically modified hitman that doesn't take shit from no one.
