"Dang, your hand sure is heavy. I feel like I lost some of my braincells there..." Boruto grunted, he raised himself from his seat and moved the chair so he was now facing Sarada properly.

He held a sketchpad and rested it against the table as he flip through a blank page to start drawing. Meanwhile, Sarada's heart was beating rapidly and it weirded her out!

Clutching her pencil tightly, she exhaled a shaky breath before looking down at her sketch.

It's not like she ran a marathon just now, so why is her heart pounding loudly? Was it because of Boruto's playfulness earlier? She clearly didn't saw that coming, the blonde just nonchalantly blurted a joke like they were long time friends or something.

Which clearly isn't the case since they are still strangers to each other. What the heck was that all about?

Is he perhaps... trying to be civil? Then does that mean he doesn't hate me anymore? Because he sure wouldn't be talking to me now, much less ask me to become his drawing partner, if he still does.

Sarada slowly lifted her eyes from her sketchbook just to have a quick glance at the blonde haired boy.

It was supposed to be quick. Really. But it turned out much longer than five seconds.

Her lips parted at the view of him.

The golden afterglow from the afternoon sun illuminated his sharp features. His golden hair slightly disheveled as he constantly brushed through it with his slender fingers. The deep ocean blue color of his eye reflected the yellow and orange hues of the sky outside.

It was beautiful.

It felt as though she was witnessing a sunset in his eye.

A silent gasp escaped her lightly open mouth when Boruto's eye moved in a slow manner to meet her onyx ones.

Sarada never thought that she could witness something much more breathtaking other than the view she has now.

A lazy smile graced the young Uzumaki's lips and his eye squinted a bit, and for some weird reason she felt a flutter in her stomach and her chest tightened.

Boruto's lips which seems to only hold mischief and arrogant smirks was actually capable of a genuine close mouthed smile.

"I bet that my drawing will be by far, the best one you'll ever see in your whole life!" Boruto said, a hint of excitement in his voice. "I'm not one to brag, but I actually got an award for my drawing skills."

He caressed the skin below his nose with his index finger as a proud smile formed on his lips.

This caused Sarada to break from her reverie. She scoffed in an attempt to hide the faint blush on her cheeks and her thumping heart, not like he can hear it tho.

"Whatever..." she muttered, "Don't expect that mine will be great though. I know how to draw but I won't say I'm excellent at it... unlike Inojin."

Sarada saw the playfulness of his expression vanish slowly. His eye that seemed to brighten because of the sunset suddenly turned dark and with a slow and languid voice, he spoke.

"How do you know that Inojin is great at drawing?"

The blackette stiffened at his words, her hand stopping abruptly from drawing. Closing her eyes for a brief second, she lifted them to meet his calculating gaze.

Did that just slipped from my lips?!

Sarada inhaled shakily to try and calm her nerves, telling herself that he wouldn't find out her secret just by that mere information.
