"Whoo! Go Metal!" Sarada shouted in encouragement the moment Metal Lee posed into his swinging position.
The heat was scorching and although Sarada was wearing a baseball cap and holding an umbrella, she could still feel the warmth seeping on her skin causing her to sweat.
Even so, she cheered alongside the audience composed of students from different grade levels and sections once it was Metal's turn to bat.
"Ha, I didn't know he's kinda popular!" Chocho commented as she eyed the faces of the students who were cheering and yelling their lungs out.
"Well, he's the captain of the baseball team after all so it's not surprising he has a plethora of fan girls shouting his name." Wasabi snorted a laugh as she ran a hand through her pixie cut, Sarada silently envied her short hair and the look of coolness on her features.
Gathering her long dark locks on one hand, she moved it to one shoulder as to let the air somehow cool her skin. Internally scolding herself for not bringing her hair tie.
"Is this your first time watching him play, Cho?" Sarada asked curiously since if it is, then that explains why she has no clue that Metal indeed has admirers too. And a lot of them in fact.
"Kinda..."
"Elaborate," Wasabi crossed her arms as she shot Chocho a look that told her to spill more.
"Uhh, it's not my first time watching the team play but it's my first time seeing him play."
"How's that possible when Metal's been a part of the team since he started studying at Konoha?" With furrowed brows Sarada stared at Chocho confusedly.
"Remember that time Metal accidentally tanked Kawaki's super punch?" Chocho snickered at her own comical narration. "Apparently they have a really important game the following day but Metal wasn't allowed to play due to his injury that's why they asked Mitsuki as a substitute player."
"Ooh, I remember now. Mitsuki used to be a baseball player for the team." Wasabi nodded in realization, uncrossing her arms before looking at the field just in time for Metal to release his first swing.
On the other hand, the corner of Sarada's lips curved upwards as she give Chocho a knowing look at the revelation that she only watched that one baseball game because Mitsuki was playing.
Sticking her tongue out playfully, Chocho diverted her attention at the tension filled game making Sarada follow suit.
And a few seconds after, Metal proved to everyone why he deserved the title of captain having hit the ball on his first try. Mouth slightly gaping at the sight of the ball flying at high speed, too far for anyone to catch, he was able to hit a home run causing almost everyone to stand from their seats. Cheers, whistles, and loud claps boomed inciting a wide and bright smile on Metal's face including his teammates. It was their win.
A poke on the side made Sarada jerk with slight surprise. Chocho smirked.
"You should go down and congratulate him!"
"Why not all of us?" Sarada asked.
"Later! For now, you should congratulate him first since... you know," Chocho wiggled her brows, all the more making the poor blackette confused. "He personally invited you to watch him play and all! Wasabi and I only tagged along to accompany you after all!"
Frowning slightly at what Chocho was trying to point out. Sarada shook her head to deny any growing ideas on her brown-haired friend's wild imagination about her relationship with Metal.
"He's a good friend and he invited me to watch because he still feels kinda bad for what happened at the gym before..."
The image of Metal fidgeting while asking her to watch their baseball game suddenly popped in her mind. He was so sure they'll win the game, Sarada can see the confidence dancing behind his eyes. He looked so determined too that Sarada had no other choice but to accept. Well it's not like she was forced to, she can't deny that she's curious as to how good Metal is at baseball.
