"Ugh! Finally!" Chocho sighed in delight while stretching her arms to relive the tension from her neck and back. "I want to sleep for the next hours! I don't think I have the energy to even eat dinner."
The first day of exams is now over and the thought of her comfy bed was enough to make her the first one to stand as Shino dismissed the whole class.
Sarada chuckled. "Hmm, that's new. You never skipped meals before!"
"Right? Today's exams were just on another level! I'm telling you! That first question on our Math test took me almost ten minutes!"
"That long?" Sarada asked amusedly.
"Girl! I stared at it for five minutes then another five to actually solve it! My goodness!"
On the other hand, the boys slowly got up from their seats as they huddled together in a group. The only ones who seemed to appear calm and compose were Shikadai, Boruto, and Mitsuki while the rest looked like there was a shadow looming over their faces.
"Man... I totally flopped that Math test," Inojin grumbled as he scratched his head in exasperation.
Shikadai chuckled. "Woah, why are you suddenly so worried? You used to not care whether you failed an exam or not."
Inojin huffed in frustration because Shikadai was right. He was totally fine with whatever score he got as long as his answers where his alone. He never really entertained the thought of cheating and copying a classmate's answer since his Mother practically reminded him the phrase 'Honesty is the best policy' every chance she gets.
"Well, these past few days... Mom was always trying to get a hold of me and everytime I missed her calls, my excuse were either I'm busy studying for the exams or I'm finishing an assignment."
"But?" Iwabe quickly interjected as if he was sure that his friend has more to say.
The Yamanaka heir crossed his arms over his chest. There was a subtle frown starting to form on his lips at the memory of his Mom's text message last night.
"But in reality, I was actually just lazying around or chilling at the shopping district," he confessed. "Then Mom suddenly said, 'Ooh, you're finally getting serious with your studies! So can I expect an improvement on your report card by the end of the sem?'"
Boruto let out a snort at his friend's dilemma. Knowing Inojin, he would never want to disappoint her Mom and would do anything to make the woman happy and proud. He can almost guess Inojin's reply to the message.
A simple 'Of course, Mom!' or 'Sure' which was sent almost instantaneously.
"Oof... that's tough. Well goodluck with that, dude." Iwabe tapped Inojin's shoulder in a comforting manner.
"Hey, quit it!" Inojin narrowed his eyes before jerking away when Iwabe's shoulder tap gradually became playful hits.
Iwabe chuckled before lacing his hands behind his head.
"How come you're so calm? Aren't you worried about your exam results?" Denki asked the tall brown-skinned boy.
"Not really," Iwabe replied quickly. "To be honest, my grades have been consistently average for the past years that my parents don't really expect me to suddenly have outstanding scores every tests. They're kinda chill and they don't pressure me to become the best."
"Ugh, wish my parents were that chill when it comes to my academics..." Shikadai sighed.
Boruto's gaze landed at his silent brother as the boys continued their light-hearted conversations in the background.
