I felt my feet slam against the ground as I walked. My wings grazing the ground leaving a trail of feathers and blood. I clenched a wound on my left side, staggering up the steps. Just, a little, further. My breath came in gasps, every sound a struggle. With one weak hand I pulled on the doorknob, it opened and I collapsed in the entryway. I felt my knee scream as it was scraped on the bottom of the doorway. Stupid Russia. Always leaving the door unlocked for anyone to waltz in whenever they felt like it. Although, I guess I'm kinda glad now for it. I mean, It saved my life. Not sure what else to say.

Slowly I picked myself up with my one arm and my feet, pushing myself closer to the bathroom. I know the first aid is in there. But it was getting harder to catch my breath, my vision swam out of focus and I could see the pixels crawling up from the corners of my eyes. "Canada!" I heard Russia's voice. There was a faint feeling of being pulled, but my eyes had closed and they refused to open. There was the vague sensation of being pulled. "Dear no. Please. I'm gonna fix you. Stay awake." I couldn't help it though, everything seemed slow my limbs relaxed and everything felt warm as everything slowly faded in.

I gasped for breath and looked around quickly. everything seemed loud and fuzzy. Right, I had lost my glasses. I couldn't see very far. There was a loud beeping noise. Everything felt heavy still, like there were weights attached to my limbs. Slowly I moved my head to look at my arms. There were several machines hooked up to me. There was a needle poking into my arm with clear fluid running through it. From all the times I had been hurt, it was probably saline. I had lost a lot of blood after all. It made sense. My wings were shifted uncomfortably under my back. I didn't like that, but I was surprisingly not dead.

"So the monitors were right, you are awake."

"Yeah." My voice was horrible and raspy.

"I'm glad, so how are you feeling?"

"Like shit."

"Other than that. Like on a scale of one to ten."

"At least a solid 9. Maybe a 10."

"I'm not surprised. Don't worry, we'll be able to get some pain meds in you now that you're awake."

"Thank you." My voice was slowly tapering back to where it was before all of this. "How, um. How long was I out?"

"Only 3 days surprisingly. You weren't expected to wake up for another month from all that had happened to you."

"Oh, um, thanks I guess?"

"You still have a long way to go. That nasty chest wound of yours is still healing, not to mention the state of your wings. We aren't equipped for them so sorry for any discomfort."

"It's not your fault. Could be more comfy but at least I stuck have them."

"What position would be most comfortable for you miss?"

"Well my stomach but that's not gonna happen until I leave here I assume?"

"No, it's not."

"Well then I guess I'll settle for you propping me up and letting me fold them in properly. They'll get sore but nothing a bit of stretching won't fix."

"Understood miss."

The nice nurse came over and pushed the bed into more of a sitting position, my muscles near my waist yelled a bit but that was okay. She then pushed my back upright some to help minimize my pain as I folded my wings up nicely against my back. "Ahh, much better. Thanks Doc."

"Of course. Anything else you would like?"

"Could you call Russia please? Tell her I'm alright."

"Is she on your file? If so we can do so right away."

"Yes, she's my first emergency number and probably dragged my in here."

"Oh, so family?"

"Yes."

"Your mother?"

"She's my girlfriend, and once things in my life die down, possibly my wife."

"Oh. Okay. So I assume you cannot be pregnant?"

"Nope. Not at all."

"Alright, any new medications or anything"

"Nothing that shouldn't already be on my file."

"Great. I'll have someone notify her that you're awake. Anything else you'd like to specifically?"

"Um, Could I have apple juice?"

"I'll have to check with the doctor for that so I can't give you an answer until I come back with her and the whole questionnaire sheet."

"Fun. I mean it's not like I haven't memorized the answers yet. Been here enough times the last century."

"I'm sure you have miss. I'll be back later."

And so I lay there. Bored out of my mind yet everything hurt too much to not move, so instead I lay there silently. Imagining many different scenarios to myself, several would raise my heart level too much and the nurse would come in again and check in on me, much to her annoyance. It felt like hours before Russia could finally come, not like I was surprised at all. Russia's work always kept her up. Now was rather early to be off actually.

"Hey dear."

"Hey." Her tone was cold, much like her stature.

"It's uh, been awhile, hasn't it?

"4 months, no calls, no texts, nothing. I've been worried sick. Then you crawl into my house at 4 in the fucking morning bleeding out. Do you have no regards for my health? No regards for my love for you?"

"Sorry dear. But I lived didn't I?"

"Barely you lucky ass."

"But I did. I lived. And it's gonna leave one hell of a cool scar."

"Oh shush. It'll go well with the scar on your hand from making yourself a magic wand that didn't actually give you magic powers."

"Okay that was years ago."

"You were 25."

"I know I know. I'm an idiot. But you love this idiot."

Russia sighed. "Indeed I do Canada."

"I love you."

"I love you too."
