Soviet x America Manxman Hurt/comfort

Soviet squirmed in his sleep. His wings flapped and woke up America who saw him. He made a few squeaks and his eyes were squished shut.

America slipped off of the couch and gently put a hand on Soviet shoulder, he jerked awake instantly. His eyes wide and unfocused and he propped himself up on his arms. Soviet glanced around before calming as he saw America.

"Oh." It came out as barely a whisper. He propped himself up and offered a hand to America, pulling him onto his bed and holding him close.

They stayed like that. Sitting next to each other, Soviet holding America in an embrace.

"Wanna talk about it?"

"I-I should. Yes. I should. Um. Yes. I should," Soviet stammered. His voice seemed too loud in the previously silent room.

"It's okay if you don't want to. I can just stay here or go back to the couch-"

"No. Please. Don't go." Soviet was surprised by the need in his voice but America didn't go.

"I. It-it was the Revolution. Again. Except, you were there. Behind me. You whispered for me to shoot him as soon as he came through. And I almost did, but I- my hands. My hands were too shaky and I-I missed and-"

"Shhhh. Take a deep breath." America pressed his face into Soviet's chest to act as a chin rest.

Soviet took a deep shuddering breath, continuing to hold America to him.

"Okay. Okay. I can do this. I-I missed him. And you looked at me with such a d-disappointed face. And then you-you shot him. And you took the knife. There was nothing I could do you-"

"Shh. I didn't do it. You're okay. I would never hurt you dear." America gently kissed Soviet's cheek.

"You, you stabbed my eye. Told me that- that I. That I was weak. And you told me I was weak and that was punishment for being unable to do it.

"And you walked away."

"Well I'm here now. And I didn't hurt you. And you're okay now. Your father died long ago." Soviet slowly relaxed as America spoke to him. "You're safe here dear."

"Thanks Meri."

Slowly the two of them fell asleep together.
