Grays are a better tone on you.

A rhythmic drip, drip, drip, could be heard in the room. Inky liquid slowly making it's way down the stairs.

One of pure white forged forward. Nobody liked xem for many reasons, the white reminded people of hospitals, of cleaning supplies, and of the blinding sun.

Xeir counterpart was just as unlucky. The embodiment of darkness. People we're scared of the dark, of the space between the stars, of the nothingness darkness brought.

The white one walked further in, before finding the person they were looking for.

Shrouded in the comfortable shadows, dripping the ink from new wings, lay the person xey was looking for.

Slowly the light the white one carried melted away into the shadows, as the dark one was pulled into an embrace. The ink covering the other, making a grey between them.

The darker one held the other close, dark tears covering the other shadows dancing on the walls in the attempt for the other to regain control.

Slowly the tears subsided. The ink travelling away, the two of them left stained.

Ashy grey and vibrant. The one that was light stared in wonder as the shadows properly danced on xeir skin for the first time. The other amazed as the light reached xeir skin with a brighter colour than before.

They nodded, hands woven as they left. This in-between was much better suited than the two extremes ever were for them.
