The week had been pretty dull, although I felt like I was coming to terms with Tommy's death. I had slept for the first time yesterday night but I woke up with cold sweat. Everything was pretty slow in my head, and I thought visiting the grave everyday would slowly help me get better. Mentally, I don't think it did but spiritually, it was like Tommy was telling me what I needed to do.
Today, instead of wallowing in my own self-pity, I was going to go visit Tubbo. I just wanted to check on him. After all, he had lost a best friend just as much as I had lost a brother. I didn't know how Tubbo dealt with it due to me leaving that night. I cant imagine he took it well. I also hadn't talked to Ranboo, I think he avoided most people.
The day was warm, the sun starting to make a return despite the heavy feelings. I put on my old winter coat and somehow slipped on one cut low boot to fit under the splint still holding my broken leg in place. It was healing nicely this time, and I felt better when I walked on it. Techno insisted I take Zyon but I thought a nice walk would help clear my mind.
With the sore leg, it took me nearly a hour to reach the water tunnel and I quickly hopped into a boat since I didn't bring a trident with me and it would mostly likely affect me leg in a negative way. I rowed over the water gently and finally reached the other side. I got out the boat gently, almost falling in the cold water. I limped slowly over to the mansion, and walked in.
Not much progress had been made due to Foolish working on Kinoko Kingdom, but it was still clean. I breathed in the smell of fresh wood and walked around. I eventually came to a bed room that had a bed in the middle of the room. It wasn't much but it already seemed posh and big. This must be Tubbo and Ranboo's room.
I walked out and closed the door. I then walked out the mansion and towards Tubbo's house. I knocked a few times gently but no one answered until I peaked up and Michael was looking out his bedroom window. I waved up to him and he waved back excitedly. I turned the knob on Tubbo's front door and it opened. I hoped Tubbo wouldn't mind if I see Michael for a few minutes.
I quickly went up the ladders and through the trap door when I saw Michael sitting at the window but looking at me. I smiled and walked into his room and sat on the big chair in the corner. Michael walked up and grabbed my pants-on my good leg- to signal he wanted up. I picked him up and sat him in my lap.
"Hello, what you up to mister?" I said with a smile. He had a small toy in his hands and he lay in my arms just fiddling with it, "What's its name?"
"Tom."
"Tom?" I asked, he hadn't met Tommy had he?
"Yeah, Dad says I should name it after uncle Tommy."
"Oh..." I said as I looked at the toy he had closer. It was plastic version of some sort of character but the character looked like Tommy with the blonde hair and big smile.
"Do you know where your Dad is?" I asked as Michael got off my lap to go collect something. I watched him quietly.
"I don't know, I haven't seen him for a few days. My other dad just left."
I was guessing that Ranboo had been distant due to Tommy's death and Tubbo was staying here to take care of Michael and had just left to do something. Michael climbed back into my lap with a book in hand and I immediately knew he wanted me to read to him. I took the book off him and smiled and he lay in my arms again. I looked at the book and it wasn't even a children's book, it was a large book with no pictures or anything.
"You sure you want me to read this one?" I asked and he nodded so I opened to the first page.
