No Longer Are We Free

Chapter Four

Chapter four ~ edited

Finally the school day ended. We were waiting for the bell to ring, so we could leave for either the bus or a car. I walled over to Kane and his other group of friends. They were all boys. I stood next to Kane and instantly had all seven of them looking at me.

"Hi." I said. A couple said "Hi." While other just nodded and got back to their conversations. I took out my phone. Two messages from Seth. I unlocked my phone and went to messages.

Hey. Sry I can't come 2day. Goin 2 get horse feed wit dad. The first read.

Maybe 2moro? The second said.

Going shopping wit Claire 2moro. Dw we can go another time.

I sent the message and waited. 'ding' I read the message.

Ok then. Again sry.

I sighed and put my phone away.

"Who's Seth?" Kane asked me.

"A friend." I said.

"A friend?" He repeated what I said.

"Yes a friend. Like you. Man you're really nosey." I said, shoving him playfully. "Darn no poles this time." The other guys started laughing. I smiled as Kane came back to stand next to me. The bell rang and everyone went two ways; To the bus bays or the car park. I walked to the bus bays with Kane and we went our separate ways.

I waited for Crystal and her sister to come. When I saw them, they were laughing about something. Her sister, Lily, had dark brown hair that stopped just above her shoulders. Her eyes were Hazel. Her skin was pale while Crystal's was tan from her fake tans. Mine was tan from being in the sun for a long time. Our bus stopped at our bay and we got on. Crystal got a seat in the middle of the bus and I sat next to her. The bus drove off and we started a conversation.

"What did you have last?" I asked.

"Geography. You?"

"PE." I answered with a sigh.

"Damn. I don't like PE."

"Neither do I."

We continued talking about different things; Guys, makeup, hair styles, school assignments. Not that I was interested in most of them. Makeup and hair styles, not me. School assignments, boring. Guys, I could make an exception.

None of my other friends had met Seth. He would probably be good friends with Kane and Tony. Oh what was I saying, he'd be good friends with all my other friends. I started thinking of where I was going to ride to. There was a trail that led to the mountains. But I wasn't allowed there by myself.

Hmm, the trail to the woods? Perfect! It had a clearing just before the actual woods. It was about an hour from the farm. Oh well. What else could be as relaxing as going for a long afternoon ride?

The bus stopped at my place and I got off. I waved to my friend and walked to my place. I heard Axe barking and he ran around the corner and came into view.

"Hey boy. How are ya?" I asked, scratching behind his ears. He licked my hand and ran around like crazy. I spotted a car in the driveway. "Hmm, who's car is that?" I asked myself. My little cousin ran out of the house.

"Hi." She said, laughing and running up to me, giving me a hug.

"Hi sweety." I said, returning the hug. We walked towards the house. "How have you been?"

"Good." She replied, running into the house, leaving me by myself. I sighed and walked inside. I saw my aunty, uncle, and other cousin. My aunty's name was Judith. She had blonde hair that was wavy and light blue eyes. My uncle, Steve had light brown hair and hazel eyes. My other cousin, Ty had sandy blonde hair with deep blue eyes. He was a couple months older then me.

"Hi cuz." He said to me.

"Hi." I said back. "I'm going for a ride. Be back later." I said again. I walked upstairs to put my bag in my room, then left for my neighbours.
