Chapter No.82. The Real Deal.

It was a normal Saturday. Robert and James were playing basketball one on one. Baby Jack and Sparky were running around the backyard. Janet was in the kitchen baking while Sylvia and Amy were playing tennis.

Robert took a break to go into the house proper and see what his wife was up to. She smiled at him, but her smile faded when the landline phone rang.

The call came in from President Hollis, and Robert answered it. "Yes?"

"We need you to come here as soon as you can. Something is happening that we believe could result in total chaos."

Robert swallowed hard. "We'll be there."

He hung up and took a deep breath. He had a feeling that this was an Armageddon that was the real deal.

"What's up, Dad?" James asked.

"I think this is the battle that you alluded to."

Janet, Sylvia, Amy, and even Sparky and Baby Jack joined in the assembly.

"This may be the Armageddon that was predicted. Let's go and see if that's the case."

They appeared in the Oval Office where President Nellis and General Harrison were awaiting them.

"We're not sure what the hell is going on here, but the Russians just informed us that they were engaged in a total war with aliens," Nellis said.

"Aliens, as in extraterrestrials?" Robert reacted.

"We believe so," The general said. "Whatever they are, the Russians have informed us that they are a threat to the entire planet."

"Did they indicate where they are engaged with these . . . aliens?"

"All we know is that they originated in the tundra regions of the North Siberia and have invaded all over."

"Well," Robert said. "We'll go and see what's going on."

The superheroes teleported to a location thirty-thousand feet above the main area of Siberia. What they saw made them realize that they were in for a real battle. The Russian air force was engaged in a war with flying aliens that appeared to have Raptor bodies with mouths full of very sharp teeth. They flew using tetradactyl wings and they were efficiently attacking the Russian fighter planes, literally crushing them..

"What the hell are those things?" Janet said. "They look like giant flying bugs."

"It looks like we're up against an army of the Alien," James said. "And it's one hell of an army."

"Okay," Robert said. "First of all, the no harm rule is off. There are too many of them for us to handle. We'll have to clone ourselves into a large force and engage them simultaneously."

"It looks like the majority of them are engaging the Russians army and air force near that mountain there," James said, pointing to peak near the Artic."

"That's our battle now," Robert said.

The superheroes suddenly morphed into a vast army that was hell bent on vengeance. They engaged the enemy in the air by firing energy beams at them, splitting them in two like ripe tomatoes. They also used their shields to deflect the alien's projectiles fired from guns that looked more like blunderbusses. The superheroes also used their swords to decapitate them.

The Russian air force helped by using their jet fighters to blast as many of them that they could and corral them so that the superheroes could gang up on them.

From the ground, the Russian generals were astounded to see the superheroes in action. They had assumed that they would be destroyed by the enemy, but now they were looking at a glorious victory.

Baby Jack and Sparky had also cloned themselves into a large army and were blasting the alien enemy to bits. They had converted into a bunch of flying warriors blasting the aliens with energy beams and fire. Baby Jack attacked the aliens in groups to confine them and then cut them to ribbons. An army of Sparky's roasted aliens with fire balls.

Robert now realized that Sparky had sensed this conflict and had prepared well. He could see the hand of God in this, and it made it clear to him that this was part of the experiment.

What surprised Janet was the fact that there were so many of the aliens. How did they become so plentiful? Were they proficient breeders? Where did they come from? These were questions that needed to be answered if they were to prevent another attack.

It required several hours to totally destroy the aliens, but it was the superhero army that did the trick. The Russian military welcomed them with cheers when they flew down to their base.

Robert came forward. "Where did those things come from?"

An officer came forward, but his uniform identified him as a science technician. "We believe that they hatched from eggs that arrived in a meteorite that landed in the glacier."

"There must have been a lot of eggs. Do you have any idea where they came from?"

"No. Meteorites land in this region often."

Robert saluted. "We are honored to have fought with you."

The officer returned the gesture. "We are curious," he said. He gestured to Baby Jack and Sparky. "Do you employ infants and dogs in your . . . your unit?"

Robert glanced at them before returning to the officer. "Yeah, Baby Jack and Sparky are able to sense that a battle is imminent. They're like our sixth sense."

The officer nodded.

The superheroes flew away and then teleported back home, instantly exchanging their uniforms with their normal clothes.

"That certainly was exciting," Janet said.

"And then some," Sylvia said.

"It's obvious that Sparky and Baby Jack were aware that this battle was imminent like you said, Dad." James said.

"No doubt about it. We need to pay more attention to them."

"Surely you must realize how crazy that is," Amy said. "I think that Russian thought we were loony."

"Probably," Robert said. "But the proof is in the pudding. They realized that without our help they would have been eaten alive."

"Actually, we saved mankind," James said. "Those aliens would have broken out from Russian and would have eaten their way through the entire human population."

"Yes," Robert said. "But you have to wonder where those things came from and are they infecting other intelligent species on extraterrestrial planets."

"So, you're equating them to a cosmic plague," Amy suggested.

"That might be what they are. We don't know."

"Why would God allow something like this to evolve?" Amy asked with a frown.

"Why does God allow evil to persist?" Robert said in response. "Those are questions that no one, even the great philosophers, has answered. Maybe creation is God's grand experiment. Think about this way. God doesn't need worshipers. We worship God because we realize that he created us, but it doesn't add squat to God's existence. God doesn't need us. We need Him. That's the reality."

"So, we can assume that God created us, us meaning our family, to save his human creation," James said.

"Yes, and that's our mandate, the reason we exist."

"That's one hell of a mandate," Amy said. "We can handle the aliens, but humans are hell bent on destroying themselves."

"You're right, and so far, we've prevented that from happening,"

What had happened in Russia, made them realize that this God experiment was the real deal, and they were the principal players in it.
